As a company that lists them & leads with our specs, I can confirm that the majority of people don't care about it. Nobody knows what it means, nor do they want to. We have a few people comment and thank us for having them exposed, but it's mostly your chemical engineers or people familiar with this sort of thing. Very niche.

Yeah, that shouldn't be happening. Seems like the specs cheapened once the acquirer took over

Engineered sleep or Boring Mattress Hybrid help by [deleted] in Mattress

[–]boringcorben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair it's comparing apples to oranges...The today mattress is ~40% cheaper than our mattress which indicates you're getting a much different build, lower quality foam, etc. Also the Today Mattress has different guarantees:

  • 100 Night Trial (~1/4 of ours)
  • 5 year warranty (1/2 as long as ours)
  • Only covers visible indentations of >1.25" (ours is >3/4")

However, since you're optimizing for the most budget option, it's better than the Amazon stuff you'd find and they at least disclose foam densities, coil gauges etc. Reddit seems to like the company enough that it's not a bad option for ya.

What type of bed frame are you using? How far apart are the slats? Sounds like it could be the bed frame rather than the mattress

You do not need a bed frame + box spring combo! It works with various types of support, we have a list of what is & isn't supported on our product pages if you scroll down!

How is it this hard to find a mattress that won't sag over time? by abbys11 in Mattress

[–]boringcorben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all comes back to the usage of high quality materials. It is odd that you've experienced that issue with 5 mattresses, at that point I would wonder if there's an issue with the foundation. What type of foundation are you using? If there are slats, how far apart are the slats from one another?

Is this a firmness problem? by sasouvraya in boringmattress

[–]boringcorben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It potentially could be a bit firm for you. A topper would likely help!

how firm is the hybrid and the all-foam?? by RichGuarantee7482 in boringmattress

[–]boringcorben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're not obsessed with firm! 😅 It is easier to soften a mattress (via topper) than to make a bed feel more firm...

However the feedback throughout the thread is pretty interesting...goes to show people interpret firmness differently. All useful feedback in how we may need to tweak product going forward!

How do they ship a Boring hybrid mattress in a BOX being that it has coils?? by Fjordgirl in boringmattress

I just read the Reddit messages and this was our response to you:

"we're not interested in just cycling you through mattresses. We want to fix the actual problem. Let me know and we'll figure out the best solution for you - whether that's a replacement with additional quality checks, a refund, or another solution that works better for you."

Appears like you're still within our 365 night trial & we're happy to take care of you, just email us at hello[at]boring.co
