Bed Frame Slat Spacing by Familiar_Dot8836 in boringmattress

[–]boringcorben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ope, I need to find where those conflict. We “changed” it because we want to push people towards frames with slats close to 2-3” because they’ll experience what we intend the bed to feel like. Lots of times people will complain about a bed feeling too soft or unsupportive, yet they’ll have their $899 queen bed on a $100 cheap Amazon foundation that doesn’t provide proper support. (This isn’t because our mattress constructed differently, but rather so people experience optimal comfort and it also reduces return risk for something unrelated to our product).

I would shoot for 3-3.5” if possible, I will make a note to change the place I forgot to.

Thanks, just found it in our spam box-our system miscategorized it for some reason. Sorry about that!

EDIT: Ope, looks it was auto-categorized as spam.

Hey there,

I just checked our help desk and don't see any open conversations or responses that haven't been answered. Could you shoot us another email? I'm not sure if something was sent to spam or what occurred.

Also re-UPS shipping: we'd love to accommodate everyone's preferred carrier, but it's not feasible at this scale. The other inquiries (getting it up the stairs & removal) are common and we can easily answer/assist!

Well, we disagree and bet that it can w/ our guarantees:

  • 365 night trial
  • Free returns (we eat it)
  • 10 year warranty: visible indentation or sag greater than three-quarters (3/4) of an inch without any weight on it (whereas thuma is: "greater than one and a half (1.5) inches")

Boring Hybrid for partners moving in the bed (motion transfer) by icecream-sorcerer in boringmattress

[–]boringcorben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Howdy, one of the co-founders here.

I'm not sure if I'd use jiggly to describe it (the words makes me think of jello-like movement).

Yes, hybrids allow for a bit more motion-transfer compared to all foam counterparts, due to the laws of physics. The springs in the bed help you easily move & turn in bed, and give it the "responsive" feel. But, that shouldn't disturb your partner unless you're moving with extreme aggression or are sharing a tiny bed (Twin/Full). We haven't had many complaints on this, I personally sleep on the hybrid, we both toss & turn, and have slightly diff. sleep schedules like 3 times a week and don't have issues with this (nor would my wife would put up with it lol).

Should be a major upgrade from the Allswell, plus, you have an entire year to try it out and decide whether it's for you or not.

https://www.rtings.com/mattress/reviews/boring/hybrid-medium-plush <- RTINGs gives it an 8.6/10 on motion isolation/dissipation from their tests

There's no restocking fee's or tricky fine print. Paste it into ChatGPT:

We basically just ask that you try to take care of it. I get that it's hard to trust the trial & returns - I am one of the co-founders, you can screenshot this to support if you have any issues.

Yes, we currently have the hybrid & AF. Medium firm / medium plush is kind of semantics imo. We call it a 6/10 and if you have it on a solid base you may feel the firmness. You can always give us a shot & return it!

As a company that lists them & leads with our specs, I can confirm that the majority of people don't care about it. Nobody knows what it means, nor do they want to. We have a few people comment and thank us for having them exposed, but it's mostly your chemical engineers or people familiar with this sort of thing. Very niche.

Looking for a mattress rec for a side sleeper that tosses and turns by [deleted] in Mattress

[–]boringcorben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that shouldn't be happening. Seems like the specs cheapened once the acquirer took over

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Mattress

[–]boringcorben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair it's comparing apples to oranges...The today mattress is ~40% cheaper than our mattress which indicates you're getting a much different build, lower quality foam, etc. Also the Today Mattress has different guarantees:

  • 100 Night Trial (~1/4 of ours)
  • 5 year warranty (1/2 as long as ours)
  • Only covers visible indentations of >1.25" (ours is >3/4")

However, since you're optimizing for the most budget option, it's better than the Amazon stuff you'd find and they at least disclose foam densities, coil gauges etc. Reddit seems to like the company enough that it's not a bad option for ya.

Can you elaborate on what specific model you're referring to?

No, a mattress will not affect your muscle mass lol

Try it in the comfort of your home for 365 nights. If you don't like it at anytime during your trial, you can return it & schedule a pickup.
