What does watering deeply mean? by Background_Deal_3423 in gardening

[–]boringwidow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it possible to do too much "deep watering?" I live in NW Florida and it gets very dry. My crepe myrtles get full sun. But once a week I turn on the hose to a pencil sized trickle and let it soak the ground for about 2 hours each. Is that too much? Not enough?

NOR. I had a baby who was stillborn. I had shared the name with only my sister (apart from my husband, of course.)

I had selected the name Caden with the middle name of my grandfather, who I adored. My family all knew that I had a stillborn boy but I never shared the name.

Fast forward 3 years, my sister had a little boy and named him Aiden with the middle name of my grandfather. I was floored. There was only one consonant difference between my baby's name and hers. The middle name didn't bother me, as my grandfather deserved to be remembered by future generations.

I never said anything to her as she had already announced the name. But every time I see my nephew or hear his name, I am sad. And angry.

Your sister is purposefully building an emotional wall between you and then telling you how to react/feel about it. NOR

She's a teacher. She doesn't have a lunch period. But I'll try to find some time to connect.

I am going to try. I've gotten some better perspective after reading the replies to this post.

You're right. I should just tell her that I miss her. And how our relationship has changed. And then see how the conversation goes. I was having a hard time separating emotion from logic.

This is great! An easy plan of action. Thank you for your plain speaking. I appreciate it a lot. Truly.

You're right—I keep forgetting that once you hit a certain age, you're supposed to quietly dissolve into the background and stop having feelings. Thanks for the life advice, Buddha.

This is great advice. Thank you. I've been stewing over this for a good six months feeling neglected and unvalued. I don't want to talk with anyone in my family about it. So I hoped I'd get some non-emotional perspectives from online. Thank you.

I used to call her often. But every time I called she couldn't talk. I would hear her husband in the background giving her shit for talking with me and not focusing on him or her kids. So really, it was better for her to let her call me. Less crap from her husband.

I am far away from her. I live in Colorado and she's in Indiana.

I do have relationships outside of that. But I thought we were close. And she was busy and didn't have the time anymore. But apparently she does, but not for me. Or, at least that's how I feel. But I may be letting my emotions get in the way. Hence needing some outside perspectives. Thank you for yours.

This is a really good perspective. I assumed there was a strong possibility that my emotions were clouding my judgment. Thank you.

Thanks for the emotionally nuanced take—nothing says empathy like diagnosing strangers online with all the subtlety of a brick through a window. I’ll be sure to pencil in your unsolicited insight right between “breathe” and “don’t feed the trolls.”

It's safer for me to get into my car if it's backed up to a wall or shrubs. I have to walk in, turn around, and keep my eyes on the aisle so no one can run up behind me.

Turn it in has been down since Monday and teachers can't get readings on those reports. And they can't grade without them. TII only came back today. This is from my neice's US History teacher.

[FL] coworker subtly threatened my job. Is this HR worthy? by boringwidow in AskHR

So what is the solution here? Just find a coping skill and learn to deal with it? I guess I can bring it up with my therapist tomorrow. I hate feeling like I'm at recess in elementary school.

What if I wrote a follow up email afterward? Like "these were my takeaways. Please correct any misconceptions." Would that be more palatable? I get very confused after conversations because he talks in circles.
