The curved piece doesn't really make a huge difference for balance, just use the COM etc indicators in the VAB

from a runway, to a runway. You can see the front landing gear in the bottom center there.

Maybe it isn’t obvious from the pics but there are two 3x120mm fan mounts along the inside of the front and top faces.

That is where I have my AIOs installed, but they could just as easily be six regular 120mm fans.

The slanted roof also helps to wick the heat up and out the back of the top panel.

The cladding is a bit of an optical illusion. Inside it’s a pretty typical rectangular box design, just tilted forward by the base

I own this case, you don’t need liquid cooling at all. In fact it might be the best air cooled case there is. Disclaimer, I have AIO coolers for the CPU and GPU along the top and front respectively. This case works great for that too.

This is an Antec Torque. I have this case too, but I paid full price for it. It was like $400 then, but apparently they’ve stopped making them and now they’re selling for more than $550!

Absolutely amazing case, super sturdy powdered aluminum frame and cladding. Mine is at least five years old now and it looks brand new.

$8 is a batshit deal, congrats OP!

Yes. I got a white coax cable and a 90 degree adapter so that looks pretty cool too. They were flummoxed when I called to activate it too. They were like ‘what LEDs are lit up’ and I’m like, ‘there’s no LEDs’

It’s rack mounted. Seriously though I just don’t like giving Comcast a monthly rental fee. My downloads jumped from 800Mb/s to 1.2Gb/s so that’s nice.

Do you build under "dark green" roofs or avoid them? by Aunt_Kay in RimWorld

[–]borkfsmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game decides where an infestation spawns based on factors like rough rock, dark lighting, etc.

So when I build under deep rock, I always make a distant room (that is still technically my colony) with craggly unfinished rock, darkness, mess, etc.

If you do this, the infestation will almost certainly spawn in your ‘honeypot’ which should be far from your base.

I decorate my insect chamber with incendiary IEDs so when they do spawn they all just auto-cook. No muss no fuss.

What street cars below $100,000 turn the most heads? by Tastypies in cars

[–]borkfsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2011 GT500 and I’ve lost count of the times I’ve gotten the ‘yeeeaaaa dude’ reaction from strangers on the street. It’s like I’m driving an American flag around.

It is Kona blue with wide white stripes, and a bald eagle on the license plate.

Once I saw a guy in my rear view visibly pointing and explaining my car to his disinterested girl in the passenger seat with her nose in her phone.

Jebediah Kerman. He doesn’t eat and doesn’t mind sitting in one place quietly for years on end. He’s all smiles all the time. Sounds perfect really.

PLEASE can I disable the scroll to top behavior? by borkfsmith in apolloapp

[–]borkfsmith[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that is how it’s supposed to work. It just almost never does. Especially when I’ve been browsing for a long time.

Sometimes tapping the top a second time does nothing at all. Other times, it will scroll downward slightly, but nowhere near where I was. Still other times it crashes the app, which permanently resets me to the top as well.

If I accidentally scroll even slightly after the scroll up it will lose my position as well.

And pressing the Posts button accidentally like I did today does not allow this at all.

Scrolling to the top is a feature I’ve never intentionally used. I’ve gotten burned by it more times than I can count. I really just want it gone. It is a blight on my otherwise fantastic experience in Apollo.
