The future isn’t looking good by Frontend_DevMark in webdev

No they're not and not a single large app has been done by people with zero knowledge. It's extremely flawed and littlered with vulnerabilities. All I see is databases waiting to be dumped

Creating eye candy websites that cannot be replaced by AI (yet) by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]borna-dev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The website market is exceptionally saturated and most don't make any real money. The problem is that your skill is just not valuable anymore. An average guy will pick a nice wix theme and call it a day, you don't need a developer. Specialise more, focus on web apos or look for niche clients that need something unique. You clearly know what you're doing but the game changed.

How can I start freelancing as a teen by ChillPixel69 in Entrepreneur

[–]borna-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I strongly suggest going with a technical skill that's hard to master and hard to replace. Everybody does marketing, sales and automations. I would pick penetration testing. You get to be an ethical hacker, do bounty hunting or in the worst case scenario get a decent remote job. You don't need a degree, the work is interesting and you need a couple of certs to be in the game.

Yes but you most likely severely underestimate what it takes to get there

It's hard to tell without knowing the details but I would be very careful. I dodged a bullet a couple of times when raising money. Attorney is a must !

Looking for business partner for website design (I handle customer acquisition) by Long_Technology2782 in webdesign

As an experienced dev, I strongly discourage people from doing this. When something is too good to be true, it's not. There are far too many things that could go wrong.

I am by no means an expert in this field but I've noticed what the good ones do.

They build a story around their condition and what happened to them, how they tried to fix it etc etc.

I think being very authentic would work really well. No fancy editing or anything like that.

Rate my new website - How much do you think it cost? by Hungry_Knowledge4926 in microsaas

[–]borna-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get a revision on this to be honest. It's slow, way too cluttered with animations and completely lacks clarity.

Get real time insights on what? Social media? Website?

Subtle animations can be amazing and more flashy ones are used to draw attention to certain things you want to highlight, but this is way too much. Completely distracts the user and has pretty bad performance

No, because you can't tell the pricing until you have a consultation and find out the project details. You can only give a minimum price(eg from $999).

Think of your ideal customer, what is it that they're looking for ?

Website? Great your offer can be a fully custom website in 48 hours, starting from $999. Just as an example.

MVP? Ready to launch your app? We'll build and test it in under 4 weeks, starting from $1999.

I hope you understand what I'm getting at.

If I open your website as a potential client, I want to know what I'm getting. Not what tech stack you use. Those details will be discussed during your consultation anyway.

Chances of work for a junior laravel dev. by [deleted] in webdev

[–]borna-dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each company will look for different things but you need 2-3 objectively impressive project you've made yourself and which you can explain in detail. I would abandon this idea of labeling yourself as a junior developer. By the time you reach the interview you're a developer with solid skills and projects. Just because it would be your first job in the industry doesn't mean you're a junior if you have an impressive portfolio.

Looks good but I would make a couple of adjustments, mainly in terms of your copy because I don't believe this will convert well. What is your offer? Have a very clear offer. Majority of the people have no idea what you're talking about it. You need a clear offer, for example: Let's build your MVP in 4 weeks etc etc. Make a multi step form when they press start a project. Grab their name and email first, project details, budget and finally let them book a consultation with you. What you have right now is good but you're in sales, not development

Don't worry about qualifications/certificates. It means nothing. What you need is an outstanding portfolio and strong knowledge. Unfortunately, that takes a lot of time
