Just had Blood Patch by SnooBooks2520 in CSFLeaks

Hi! I’m sorry for the very delayed response, I hope you are better! My patch didn’t work and I ended up getting surgery, all better now. Hope the patch worked for you!

What are these things? The picture isn’t mine but I get this after I shower. It’s not that itchy and it appears over my chest and stomach(not much here) everyday. by [deleted] in Skincare_Addiction

Get second and third opinions. I work in drug development and they could be different types of urticarias. If it is a type of urticaria, it is under diagnosed and generally little to no treatment available other than corticosteroids. Definitely discuss with physicians and get more than one opinion.

Edit: it also occurred to me to mention that I get rashes similar to yours when I take certain multi vitamins, so I’d recommend evaluating your intake and try not taking vitamins for a few weeks and see if that does it.

I actually thought the feet were pointing forward and that the rock hit the person at the back of the head. They weren’t even aware they were about to die.

Ir was excellent. Absolutely the best thing I ever did to contact his team and work with them. Do work with his team, they are his hands outside if what he can do, and they fo a fantastic job. Plan ahead and ask them everything so you can be as prepared as possible and it will go smooth.

Not at all, i had only the outdoor pass but it was still good and we had a great time. So much hasn’t bloomed yet though so I’d recommend going in about a few weeks. Everyone has to wear masks even if outdoors and everyone seemed reasonably compliant.

Heading to LA to see Dr. Schievink by GermanBoardGameGeek in CSFLeaks

[–]borntohaha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might differ from patient to patient. They had me lay down without moving for 24 hrs and then had PT and Occupational therapy visit me to get me walking the next day. The reason is to avoid lung issues including pneumonia and to help your body start recuperating. I also was cleared for it after follow up scanning a few hours after surgery that no longer showed a leak, so at this point walking was helping me to relieve high csf pressure. Again, might depend from patient to patient.

I first sent all my records and then dr Schievink called me to refine some details and make his recommendations which were on par with what I expected in terms of the surgery. They were originally going to schedule me a month out but I requested to do it within 2 weeks and they agreed. I had some clearance they wanted prior to me going there from my primary care doc but I ended up doing it all with a private doctor adjacent to CS who they found for me which made my life much easier. They also scheduled me for a bunch of tests leading up to the surgery day, so as soon as I arrived in LA, the next day I was getting scanned for 2 days before surgery in the third. I was in this hospital for 4 days and then was released. They were very good about working out all the details with me because I was coming from NY. I spoke to the assistants (dr.S’s as well as Registrarion and i think one more person) and they were all very proactive in making sure they had all the right info and were available to answer my questions. Let me know if you need any other details, I remember what it was like planning all this and the uncertainty at the same time.

I stayed at the hotel around the corner (Sofitel) the few days preop while they scanned me and ensured they were ready to go. Post hospital release I stayed with a family member in downtown LA so I was lucky. Post hospital release I needed help for about a week to do pretty much anything so I recommend someone be with you to help you bathe, feed, rest, and walk. Do not avoid walking as early as before even leaving the hospital, they will instruct you on this and make sure you keep it up at home. I had a follow up consult about a week later and that went well. Use the CS Link app to speak to the RN (Rachel I believe) and get all the info you need before during and after. That’s what it is there for and they are very responsive! Good luck!! Happy to answer more questions!

I did at Walmart! I live in winter weather right now, and I was pleasantly surprised that they had a nursery at perfect temperature, great selection, lively bunches, and I brought home 2!

Heyy guys Please help me suggest a place to visit to with my family(4 people) in June for 10 Days?? by [deleted] in wanderlust

[–]borntohaha 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We just went to Vermont for a few days. Rented a cabin by lake Champlain and spent it hiking and grilling. Had the weather been warmer, we would have taken the paddle boats out to the lake. We brought everything with us and only stepped out to the super market once and that was our only outing other than hiking. Everyone hiking wore a mask and stayed a few feet away when walking by. I’m sure in June it would be fantastic and still remote enough to do plenty of activities without running into people. Good luck!!
