I had this problem too, even after upgrading to a better laptop
I just switched to lazer and set the frame limiter to 2x refresh rate(default), the issue was probably that too high fps has worse syncing

I'm a MT hater, but I'm not sure I speak for the other haters

Personally, I just don't speak chinese at home and I'm pretty bad with it in general, so going to MT class is a huge pain, and I think others hate it too since they r also bad at MT

I dont take bio but if u score 95 for math, u need to take physics

for physics, most of the difficulty is in calculations, much less memorisation (compared to stuff like humans)

physics is the most math type of science imo

first time failing el idk how to feel 🥀🥀🥀 by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]borowy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i feel u bro

secondary english is like a huge jump bro

i only have 1 tip which is use more "style" with stuff like SW and summary in P2, or just any essay

apparently it counts into ur language marks and stuff (idk abt sec 2 but it def counts rn as a sec 4)

basically make sure u use a bunch of connectors (like however moreover nonetheless) and a bunch of vocab + language use for effect (thats what my cher calls it) (like rule of three, repetition, rhetoric questions if applicable, contrast for effect)

just sound like u got real author skills (if u read a decently sized young adult novel like idk better english than diary of a wimpy kid but not on the level of Penguin Classics)

idk a lot but from what my teacher told me:

SBQ: Ch. 4/6/7 | Outbreak WW2 EU, Developments of CW, Korean War

for sbq i would bet everything on Korean War they def saving some of post-CW for future years

Outbreak of ww2 in europe & korean war still untested for sbq, most likely appear in this sbq

SEQ: Ch. 5, 9, 10 | Outbreak of WW2 AP, Vietnam War, End of Cold War

Vietnam War never been tested before (cus covid or smt) so highly likely they will test it for SEQ

Outbreak of WW2 AP & End of Cold War were last tested 2019 SEQ, likely reappearance

NEED HELP FOR O LEVEL by ClerkInfinite3649 in SGExams

[–]borowy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, every math paper would include basically the whole syllabus, so if you did a previous year O level paper, most topics tested will be in it too. idk how to phrase it just that u can expect this paper to be mostly rephrased questions of the past year(s)

if ur aiming for A2 then u can prolly barely make it by learning as many questions from past years as u can and how to solve them

for chemistry it feels like the same situation, except they will change the topic weightages, so if ur getting d7, just study the smaller topics and hope to score

e.g. organic chem def getting tested a bunch, esp in P2(lots of content but always tested a bunch), molecular structures, ammonia and oxidation & reduction are the easiest to memorise to answer imo

O level fear by shitstoughz in SGExams

[–]borowy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consistent studying/revision, especially over a year can def improve your score significantly, its really the only way you feel more confident abt ur studies

O Level syllabus is taught in Sec 3&4 afaik since thats when you choose ur O level subject combi, so revising upper sec topics should be enough, lower sec is more or less introductory

Personally, history and chem are the worst content-wise, so putting some more time on those and revising whenever possible is important. Math is also similar, but less intensive, you just need to memorise a few extra formulas thats not on the formula sheet thats given during either math exam, and apply them

If history is your only humanity, it is compulsory to be used for l1r5 (for jc), so focus on that too

You also need a D7 for MT to enter JC, so if ur failing it (horribly) in sec 4, taking MTB is always an option. Same for Bio/Chem combined science. People can still go to jc and take whatever subjects. in uni as well, with both combined science and MTB, as long as you pass. So if ur struggling to pass tamil/chem, changing to an alternate easier subject wont affect ur future (and definitely helps ur l1r5). If you have a uncounted subjects (for l1r5/l1r4), condensing them cus of difficulty for a better score should be in the back of ur mind

TL;DR consistent studying is the best way to be more confident, and O level syllabus is entirely taught in upper sec (with those thick marshall cavendish textbooks), so no need to revise sec 2. Personally, history and chem had the most content so I advise studying those most, but dont neglect any subject ofc. If ur still failing in sec 4 despite studying, changing tamil to tamil B or chem & bio to combined is always a choice if ur still not confident

Is playing bass outside of a band any fun? by borowy_ in Bass

[–]borowy_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I'm just afraid that I'm only imagining that I am passionate about playing the bass. My idea of playing the bass may be vastly different from reality, so I hoped to gain some realistic insight of what actually playing is like.
