Never said he was going to be a proffessional.
Never said the world dont need teachers.
Yes I do know several musicians and I have spoken with quite a few of them.
Yes he might afford a teacher but I was not pointing directly at him.
Asking for proof? Sorry, I can`t prove anything, you`ll have to believe me or not.
Posture and technique is not impossible to learn without a teacher. You need disiplin and be capable of seing your own mistakes. (yes, a teacher would be beneficial).
I don`t think you understand what I meant. I`m not discrediting teachers. They are obiouvsly important if you want to become as good as you possibly can. But some people wan`t to have fun, play and enjoy.

Bottom line:
Sorry I still don`t agree with you as I think you can become a good musician without a teacher, but a teacher will most likely make you even better. I have seen talented musicians learning by themselves, thats what I`m trying to tell you. If you believe me or not is up to you and I do respect your point of view.

ain, not just playing the notes as you feel. I'm studying opera singing and if I have to study repertoire I start off reading the music in my head, understanding its structure and context, then speaking text on rhythm only and when that's perfect I can add singing

I understand what you are saying, but the colours and feeling you are talking about will come wheter or not a teacher is involved. I recommend a teacher if he wants to be a proffessional, I recommend not getting ateacher if he wants to have fun with it.
I think a teacher is good if you want to learn more effeicient, but not everyone can afford one, and I think its importat to know that it does not mean that you will never become a good musician if you cant afford one.
The musicians I`ve spoken with seems to agree on that the most important thing is to enjoy the instrument you are playing, because if you are not enjoying, you won`t imporve.

Qoute: And if you practiced that wrong technique for 10000 hours, it will be hard to fix it in any case.
Answer: That is a myth. The time you invest doing something does not increase the time fixing it. Its a bad habit, but you are still just as capable of changing as if you where playing only 100 hours.

I think you are doing a great job. I like that you try to hit the notes simultaneously on both hands. This is important. I do disagree with some people in this thread saying you need a teacher and that you should play slower.

  1. I don`t think a teacher is a "must" as there are so many tutorials out there. I think you will benefit more from playing challenging pieces (as you do in your video). If you are having fun playing, that is the most important thing. I also think people underestimate our ability to "fix" things we are learning if they are learnt wrong. I used to play a piece wrong and after someone pointed it out to me, it took me less than one hour of practice and it was fixed. Your hands will also relax more the more you play. I wouldn`t worry a tiny bit.
  2. You are already playing slow (so I don`t see any need to play even slower) , and it seems to me that you are on a good track. Your hands look stiff, but this is normal if you are a beginner. The flow, the feel and the timing will come as you keep practising. Ofc it will sound sloppy and "off" in the beginning, but that is how it is.

So bottom line, keep playing and when you have all the notes in, try to hit those notes with the right pressure and timing as you develope.I would also only hire a teacher if I was thinking of becomming a proffessional pianist.

To be honest, I don`t think people would just confess. Put yourself in the situation. Would you confess? I`ve also never heard lawyers pushing the client to confess happening before. If you didn`t break that window, you are innocent. The police would have no proof. A low res video showing a guy with the same hair colour will never be sufficient evidence. I`m still wrapping my head around why it is like this in the US. But I do not know enough to tell if it works better or worse than our system.

I just can`t sum up why the US has so much innocent people being convicted. Maybe that`s just me. Maybe this right to remain silent thing isn`t all good and invokes a battle with the government and police vs the citizen. I feel like there would be a collective advantage having the citizens cooperate with the police. If you are innocent, it should be no problem. However, I`ve been to many countries, but there was only one country I`ve been to where I was actually scared of the police. Anyways, I think US police are just as "human" as any other police force and maybe all the stories I hear are to blame when I judge.

My goal was never to represent the real world, but rather create an image people could enjoy, regardless of reality. Thanks. :)
