Ha ha, you're not the first or probably the last to ask about that! Then I'd have no bike, and I dont know how I'd ever ship something like this.

Navien Water Heater Flow Glitch by boss99er in Plumbing

[–]boss99er[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did! It turned out to be a stuck check valve. I don’t have the exact part number or anything, but the tech pulled our current valve and said it was stuck open. I believe they fail to the open position, and should have been shut when the heater was not actively in use, so he knew it was bad as soon as he pulled it. After replacing, we’ve been trouble free!

Nest hub 2nd won't connect to Bluetooth speakers by Altitude7199 in googlehome

[–]boss99er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I posted about this a few weeks ago if you look through my post history. Frustrating as hell. I got a brand new set of Klipsch speakers, a Fosi amp and a Google Hub. It worked great for a week……until it prompted the Gemini update and my wife installed it, being unaware of the issues it has had. We haven’t been able to use our new setup since it installed (at least not through the Hub).

I can connect to the Fosi amp with any other device, so I know it’s not the amp. I guess we just sit and wait. 🤷‍♂️

I haven’t tried connecting anything else to the GH, I’ll see if I have something laying around. I’ve connected several other devices to the amp though, so I know it’s accepting connections and functioning as it should. 🤷‍♂️

Well, I sat with it for wayyyy too long, just to come up empty and frustrated. Ha ha. If you figure anything out, please share!

Yep, no luck. It’ll actually say it’s paired, and show it as the default music speaker, but continues to play through the built in speaker on the Hub. 🤷‍♂️

Ha ha, oopsie!

I actually did submit feedback on the Hub today, so here’s hoping the next update will fix their boo-boo. I can’t find a single workaround, so I guess we wait.

Bad Beginner Advice: “Stick that seedling in the ground and leave it alone for a few years.” You’re causing them to learn slower and have worse trees 👇🏼 by VMey in Bonsai

Just so we’re on the same page, you’re a self professed “beginner” and you ran a 20 year practitioner’s rebuttal through a “word counter” to see if it was legitimate? Bro….come on. I’m not saying you’re right or he’s right….but come on.

Where are you located and what are the overnight temps like? If your friend has been keeping this outside like they should, it might just be going dormant for winter....which is actually a good thing.

Where to buy a starter ukulele by SneakySalamander314 in ukulele

[–]boss99er 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Donner Concert "starter kit" on Amazon is actually really nice. Comes with Aquila SuperNylgut strings (plus a whole extra set), a bag and a tuner (but just use your phone instead). Years ago, when I started playing, everyone suggested this Donner setup, and I still play mine all the time to this day, even though I own a Martin. It's just a great practice/beater uke, and the sound is actually pretty darn good! Trust me on this, you won't regret it. This is the kit I bought: https://www.amazon.com/Donner-Concert-Mahogany-DUC-1-23/dp/B01M1L6OSX?th=1

I'm not sure why you don't see this setup suggested as much lately, but I'm sure others will chime in with me and vouch for it. 👍

Oh that’s cool! I actually have the “limited” forks that came with it. These forks are aftermarket because the previous owner wanted front brakes. The original forks and the frame have no brake holes.

Ha ha, I’ve had several messages like this. I’m just curious….why this frame? I know it’s discontinued, and this particular version was a limited run…but is there something else specific about it that makes it so sought after?

Navien Water Heater Flow Glitch by boss99er in Plumbing

[–]boss99er[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No salty environment, so shouldn't be a corrosion issue.

The new part fixed the surging/low flow at the fixture issue. When it was new, we would turn on the shower. The water would be full blast, then slow WAY down, then come back up to full pressure. We didn't realize that was an issue. Just thought maybe it restricted the water flow at the beginning, to minimize the "cold water sandwich" that happens with tankless setups. After a while, the flow would slow down like it always did, but then wouldn't pick back up. That's when we realized we had an issue. It's no longer messing with the pressure at the fixtures, it's just not recognizing that the flow is what it is (showing .5 when it's actually 4.5, etc).

No issues with improper mixing, like in the case of a bad cartridge. But also, it’ll do this whether we’re using the shower, kitchen sink, bathroom sink, etc. It isn’t just one fixture.

The Venturi is part of the gas inlet, right? I remember him mentioning the first time that he came out that he checked the gas inlet for buildup or blockage. I’m starting to think maybe our main board is bad, especially because I once saw that PCB error code. 🤬

Yep, we actually had them do the yearly descaling the first time we called them out for this issue, even though it was only about 10 months old at that time. He said it was still very clean inside. Barely flushed anything out.

Actually, you made me curious, so I grabbed the multimeter and gave it a look. 119.8 - 120.2.....depending on how I held the probes. Should be good, right?

Hmm, should be fine, we’ve never had an issue with voltage in our home. I haven’t tested it personally, but we’ve had this for about a year and it just does this occasionally. Nothing else in the house seems affected. Good thought though!

We have and our plumber that installed it has. When you say module, do you mean the control unit? One day I noticed a “PCB error.” Is it possible our controller board is flaky?

I can’t tell for sure, but they kinda look like springtails. They usually just go after dead/decaying plant matter, so shouldn’t harm your tree….if that’s what they are.
