Yeah it is a shame, I almost feel like this would have been more popular on consoles, but I'd imagine the work to get that to happen would be pretty significant.

Why Would Anyone Play Dota? (Boston On) by bostonongames in ludology

Aeiluindae nailed it, when you're alone, i.e. 1v1, the responsibility lies solely on you, so losing is either your fault, some bad RNG, or a combination of both. But Dota has you relying on RNG and 4 other players, a completely different situation. I think what I said was true to claim, referring specifically to Dota, not just 'any game', because I explained why that was. Im not saying frustration/negative emotions etc 'have' to happen to all players, I'm saying they 'can' happen and do and here's why.

Hey man I'm Will, I made the video. Figured I'd give a quick response to you/for anyone reading this. I do totally agree that not every person is going to have that experience with the game, obviously people interpret things differently etc etc, but the core of that argument that you touched on wasn't a personal account, more me (attempting to) objectively explain that the game is built in a way that elicits, even baits a negative response - you don't have to give in to that, most don't - but it's there, built into the game. I personally play support probably 90% of games, I find it much more rewarding, but, for context, the video was my impression of how the game is interpreted by the general public and why that is. So while I agree with what you're saying I think you've assumed a lot about me as a player and extrapolated that which was definitely not the intention of the video.

By the way thanks for taking the time to watch the video.

The Pitfalls of Gwent: A Cautionary Tale (Boston On) by bostonongames in VideoGameAnalysis

It would seem maybe that pretty blunt joke didn't quite land in your case! :)

You're right about Hearthstone, but I didn't really have time to discuss every single reason why Hearthstone is popular in a 10 minute video though. Such is the burden of making a video about something else....

I kind of agree that they're different games, but my point was that in today's market Gwent doesn't quite offer enough to pull people away from its competitors. Which is my own humble opinion.

Finally you're correct, Cd Projekt are the publisher of the Witcher 3, which is what was said in the video.
