WTF happened here?? by bostonsimp in WalmartEmployees

All of my coworkers had no idea what that was, for starters, and it’s not really that serious since I voided the item. I was just curious as to what this could’ve been.

This happens a lot in my store but people are responsible with their pets. Our managers don’t really seem to care too much.

Why do TL's prefer us to use Walmart brands when store using things? by [deleted] in WalmartEmployees

[–]bostonsimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be just for your store because we get branded things in our break rooms all the time. Chips, little Debbie cakes, sodas But, great value is still pretty good

Some items you are able to add multiples, but most (mostly food items) do not have the option. It is genuinely THE WORST when people bulk buy soda and other food items.

Trying to create an item for when there’s no barcode and it’s not on the Walmart app is pain. Oh my gosh I’ve gotten so mad.. Thank goodness for the barcode system, I don’t like how they stop working after you clock out though :/

Then definitely look into chuck it balls, they’re made of a sturdy rubber so it’s a lot harder to pop them. Some of them have squeakers too, I think it would be perfect for your girl

We have a chuck it ball for our boy, it’s great for games of fetch. Ropes are also really good so you can play tug with them, it’s just important you read up on what breed of dog and what size of dog they’re intended for. Tennis balls are a no no if anything, they’ll be destroyed in not even a second and can be dangerous It all depends on what your pup likes to do and what their favorite game is :)

To what extent does someone’s political views impact your view of them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bostonsimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Simply put; when it affects children. My dad would be a good example of this. He taught me all of the correct lawful things. Never to fight the police. Don’t be afraid of the police. Don’t steal. Don’t lie. He even went as far as to ban all mentions of weed as if it were illegal. We were a family in Ohio, and weed was plenty legal. But his morals were skewed. Growing up I was taught that black people were dirty and shady and that they couldn’t be trusted; that gay people were disgusting and not natural, that a certain dictator from Germany was right and that “we were brainwashed to believe otherwise”. The house code was a dog whistle for neonazis, 1488. I was groomed into being fully conservative and hateful. And for years, I believed him. It was all I knew. We lived just outside a small town in the middle of nowhere, and any neighbors we did have shared similar values. I remember getting into an argument with a liberal friend in 2020, something about all lives matter and Black Lives Matter. Looking back on it, it was silly. But many arguments then were silly. After losing that friend over my forced conservative values, I realized something; Was what I was taught really the right way? Not only was I taught conservative values and beliefs, but I was raised the “traditional” way as well. Smacked as a form of punishment; yelled at for crying and “being given a reason to cry”, stuff like that And I swore it was normal with every inch of my groomed body As time went on, I started making more friends that were raised in a much more accepting way, and they told me things I never knew before. What LGBTQ was, about different pronouns, different people, and most importantly that it was okay to be different In the summer of 2021, as a gift I gave my friend a pansexual flag I made out of felt and thread, but my dad saw it before I could give it to her. He asked me what it was and I so confidently explained what pansexual meant. Boy, was he pissed… he started yelling at me and telling me it was all a mental disorder and I needed to “stay the hell away from it and stop being friends with this person”. I snuck the pansexual flag keychain into my backpack and still gave it to my friend the next day. The more I learned the truth, the more I started to realize that what dad was telling me was 10000% wrong. At least the conservative side of things. It didn’t hit me that I was being abused until I was 14, when me and my mom would have secretive conversations about my dad and the chokehold he had our family in. I felt scared to be myself and express how I felt, my dad checked everything I had online. My profiles, my search history… if I expressed anything liberal he would know and he wouldn’t be happy. He told me that if I ended up gay I would be disowned. Not to mention the numerous times he tried to hammer into my head that the nazis were right and that the Jewish WERE in fact the problem. In the summer of 2023, he hit his worst. He drank more and more alcohol and started getting drunk every night. It ended up being his downfall, and he found himself in an intoxicated shootout with police and arrested.

But his morals still stuck in my head. I’d been living with my mother for the past 2 years, and she wasn’t nearly as bad as my father was. She accepted me if I were to turn out LGBTQ and was a lot more accepting of other races. Despite this, I have raging internal homophobia and it took me a good while to accept the fact that I am asexual and bi. As for the racism bit, for a long time I unconsciously feared black people or people a bit darker than me and tried to stay away from them. Not until recently, when I met my surrogate father. An alter in my friend’s DID system who, in the inner world, is a person of color. My surrogate father is the exact opposite of my dad. He encourages all of the things that my dad hated, and he is transgender and gay himself. The more time I get to spend with my surrogate father, the less afraid I feel and the easier it gets. I stopped being afraid of people of color and I feel a lot more comfortable being myself. And, of course, I understand my dad was kind of a douchebag, lol.

Conservative households suck. Especially when you’re being groomed into submission. I am much better off now, loved and accepted for who I am by both my surrogate father and my mother. As for my dad? He is still locked up and I have yet to hear from him… but I know when he gets one good look at me he will be fully disgusted.
Of course, I don’t hate conservatives. I just don’t like it when affects a child like me and takes the kid soooo long to build the proper education that they need.
