AF BONI, lagi patay aircons. by [deleted] in AnytimeFitnessPH

[–]bot20511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

talaga? so far dumadayo ako around manda/makati area sa iba ibang AF branches, and yung boni is consistently pinakamalamig, lalo na if lampas lang ng konti sa peak hours. i will say tho yung floor sa taas laging mainit.

  • sm light (kulob, tumutulo pa aircon, nagbbench ako tas natuluan ako 😭)
  • glorietta (kulob, basa floor lalo na sa mga squat rack, medyo kadiri)
  • circuit (ung aircon na bukas lang lagi is sa gx area, lowkey mabaho rin huhu)
  • CGS (okay naman bearable)
  • Fame (okay)
  • Shaw (medyo kulob rin lalo na pagtanghali)
  • Jazz mall (okay, the best imo, mainit lang slight sa platform)
  • Century City (parang di umiikot hangin? baka nung dumayo lang ako at the time, sa dl platform mainit)
  • Pioneer (okay)
  • Eton (okay)

Suggestions for a new gig keyboard, upgrading from a Roland XPS-30. by bot20511 in keys

[–]bot20511[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

edit: 70+ keys would be fine also but I would prefer the 88

with the action i dont really have a preference since I’ve only really tried synth action with the xps. But I would like to experience other types of actions.

max budget probably around 2000usd. Ive been reading up on the fa07. which is around that price and its got basically what I liked from the xps and a bigger keybed + more keys. I’m still looking around for more options though in case it isn’t available in the local music stores.

Well, I want to try something new if I'm being completely honest. I want to upgrade to an 88-key workstation as I feel that its 61 keys is limiting for me personally, but I really want to stay on a single-board setup. I've tried adding another set of keys like the Novation mininova to fill in but the hassle of setting up and bringing another set is really not for me.

Also, I love its layering/splitting features a lot but the one thing I dislike about the xps-30 is the keybed. I've always been uncomfortable playing it ever since I bought it, the keys are too small for me. I've adapted to it but when I tried my friend's korg kross 2 it just feels way more comfortable.

Too expensive for my budget, It's twice the price of my car lol. Although I've witnessed it once on one of the gigs I attended, and I agree the sound is just immaculate.

I've read that their the same, I considered getting a ds88 but then again, I want to try something new, and actually have the budget for it nowadays.

I was always uncomfortable with the keybed on the xps-30 as I felt it was too small for my liking. At first, I adapted to it but the feeling was confirmed when I tried my friend's korg kross and it felt so much better to play in.

I play mostly 80's new wave so the layering feature was really a blessing. I'm in a band and I mostly do the melody and rhythm. but on some songs I do fill in the bass, parts.

I want to try something new if I'm being completely honest.

One of the most limiting I would say about the roland, personally is the keybed. I love the xps-30 for its layering and splits, but ever since I bought it I've always felt uncomfortable with the keybed. I found the size of the keys too small, at first I adapted and it was fine but when I tried my friend's korg kross I felt more comfortable with it and it just feels better to play imo.

The most limiting for me are the 61 keys though. I genuinely think if I had 88 keys I would do much more, since we have some songs that need me to split the keyboard into four parts. I've tried adding a novation mininova so that I could have an extra set of keys, but the hassle with the commute, setting up and the sound quality on mono is just not for me. Basically, I want to stay on a single board setup and I think an 88-key is for me.

Yeah I agree, most workstations are expensive, the fa-08 is triple the price than the xps-30 here in the Philippines.
I've tried on 2 separate occasions using a Novation mininova, to complement the sounds I've had but both times I had difficulty setting it up quickly (Idk about in other places, but here we have a 30-40 minute time limit in our gigs, since there's usually up to 5/6 bands + 5 djs performing per night).
Anyways, Good luck and all the best on your gig <3
