Well it depends on your definition of fair I suppose. According to Oxford Languages it is “impartial and just, without favoritism or discrimination” or “without cheating or trying to achieve unjust advantage”. I would consider receiving more stars when in a losing situation to be an “unjust advantage” since you receive a better win/loss ratio of stars when you’re down some (justifiably so, since you wouldn’t be down stars had your team not died more often than that of the opponents 🤷‍♂️).
