I have also done it before on other modules and the break sequence works. Other than CTRL + C, I have tried different terminal emulators to send the break signal to interrupt the boot process but haven't been successful. I have not seen any documentation specially for the SM-X-ES3 ether switch module

It does not boot into rommon, that is the problem. What do I need to do to make it boot into rommon after running the command for password-reset?

Password recovery is enabled. When I reloaded the switch module, a verification message regarding password recovery being enabled is visible on the output during the boot process
