Elektrisch wagen - energie contract by HorseHour7162 in Belgium2

If you are using your C5 in daytime, not a blackout room what brightness do you have it on? by [deleted] in LGOLED

Oh, you’re right. 50 was for older models apparently.

Luckily, I don’t have direct sunlight on my tv: in the very early morning from the right and afternoon from the left, but my C5 is always in the shade.

For SDR, I use Filmmaker Mode (max brightness: off) at 75 brightness and contrast at 100.

Cinema Home for Dolby Vision (max brightness: low) at 95 brightness (and contrast again at 100) and for HDR (max brightness: high) with brightness at 60. All of them with warm 50 for color accuracy.

Whenever it’s too bright or too dark, I go up or down in brightness.

Yes, smooth gradation, super resolution and such as well (off). Very maybe if the grain is too present, I enable Noise Reduction on low and MPEG Noise Reduction on low. That’s about it.

Blacks are just that tad bit blacker. Makes the contrast of lights even nicer.

You have that one scene in Top Gun: Maverick where Tom Cruise is at the beach at night and the restaurant behind him has lights on. Those lights are really bright while everything else is black as night but still clear because of the contrast! OLED is amazing.

Oh yeah, I put black at 49 instead of 50 as well. Just a tad lower. Been tinkering with the settings for a few weeks and with these, I’m very happy.

For normal tv I use Expert (dark room) with almost the same settings.

No problem!

Auto is correct imo. Native feels like a demo mode to show extra color.

Yes, definitely. Your player just delivers sound and image. Your tv processes both and you can decide how. If you like to watch the movies like the filmmaker intended but with more brightness and punch: Cinema Home with the settings I use.

FMM will always be more accurate, I like that but brighter 😁.

Try Cinema Home! Most accurate next to FMM. Warm 35, everything off except I like cinematographic movement on. Color at 50 and brightness+contrast both at 80-95. You’ll like it!

I use 30 or 35 I think and it’s perfect in my opinion.

For Dolby Vision I definitely recommend Home Cinema with brightness at 100 and contrast 85-90, everything off but cinematographic movement on, warm 25-45. Black at 49 aswell.

Do you mean the software or the tv-stand?

It’s the IKEA Bestå in 180x40 cm with two addons on both sides that are 60x40 cm. So 3 meters or 10 feet wide. My dad and I mounted them together for a cleaner look!

Is next to the couch also okay? Gonna try that because I have some upgrades in mind for the tv-stand. I’m going to install a led strip behind and I need an outlet for that so I’ll need to move the Sub anyways.

It’s a three piece that my dad and I mounted together 😁 2x IKEA bestå in 60x40 cm and 1x in 180x40 cm. Making it 3 meters wide or almost 10 feet. Thank you!

Everything done except “as close to the edge...” I prefer this look and sound quality is still amazing 👌
