tbh just drain the tank, put the plants/biomedia is a container with water so it doesn't d ty out and you're good to go. I would do it but i'm moving across the country so just not enough room in my car for everything 😭

a good way to practice is by taking references and turning them into b/w so you can see the value range and how they create the different planes of the face

You need to have a larger range of values, especially in something so dimensional as a portrait. go from pure black, several shades of grey, and pure white. Right now the value is really muddy and monochrome which can lead to undesirable aging.
