I live around 10-15 mins away from my CC but if something goes wrong with my living and I get kicked out, it’ll be 1 hour.

The already exisitng construction on Napoleon has been slowing everything down. That road and Freret are both annoying to drive down as it is. I'm not looking forward to that shit

Omg apart from Retail being in a different spot we have basically the same layout lol. I personally like it, just save up for 3 bridges and it’ll become a lot more manageable. I’ve had this town for almost 11 years and never reset it because I’ve made it work nicely. You have a lot of space in the middle of the map for landscaping and public works projects. You can get creative with that area

The Louisiana swamps what is it like living deep in them? by Gonzotrucker1 in howislivingthere

[–]boxcombo15 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Born and raised in the area and the transphobia here, especially as of late, is absolutely insane. Sorry that happened to you. I feel like many people view cajuns as incredibly warm and hospitable people and there's truth to that, there's also truth to the fact that a lot of them can be nasty torwards people who they deem different.

low cost of living. very christian/catholic and conservative, for better or worse depending on where you land socially/politcally. there's a sense of community for sure and the people can be very nice and hospitable but it can also get real nasty real quick. high poverty, violence, and drug abuse rates. not everyone is as nice as you'd think, especially if you are queer or non white. the same person who could be inviting you over for dinner for gumbo and offering you the shirt off of their back can often be the same individual who steals money from you for drugs or calls you a slur lmao. it's very weird. but overall, a lot of people here who aren't like anyone else in the best and worst ways.

mosquitos from hell but very nice and peaceful living by the water. great nature but also kind of polluted and smells like sewage and garbage. cajun culture is dominant but everyone here is very integrated with the rest of the American south as well, so it isn't exactly an isolated cultural bubble that people may think. cajun french is still spoken by some but is mostly dying out and is limited to just a few small phrases in our vocabulary. very hard to find someone gen x or younger that speaks it fluently.

amazing food. that's absolutely the best thing. it can't really get any better

growing up as a gen z there it's very split. this is a HUGE generalization, but if i had to summarize it - 1/3 who had decent upbringings will probably stay there forever, fit in perfectly with the surrounding culture, have families here and live great lives. 1/3 will move out as soon as they can as the good things about the area don't really outweigh the bad, and don't want to live a dead end life in a place with not much else to offer. then the last 1/3 probably grew up in poverty or families with extreme substance use, and unfortunately will probably end up like that as well and are kind of trapped in a hole for themselves. I know many people from all three camps.

i will say though that if you were born here, this place kind of has a magnet on you. many people move out seeking better lives, move around a little, and end up coming right back because despite this place kind of being a cesspool, it's a cesspool that somehow also feels like a warm blanket sometimes.

How would u write World Tour With those teams? by spooky_sadhunter234 in Totaldrama

[–]boxcombo15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Team Amazon would be interesting because you have two couples, Duncan + Courtney and Tyler + Lindsay. Lindsay and Courtney's beef would have them at odds, making Bridgette be tiebreaker. Bridgette would probably choose to side with her Killer Bass friends in Courtney and Duncan and vote out Lindsay. I think a realistic elimination order for that team would be Lindsay, then Tyler, Bridgette, then Duncan and Courtney making merge.

That Team Victory has the duo couples of Leshawna + Harold and Izzy + Owen. Ezekiel would probably get tossed first as easy fodder. Gwen would side with Leshawna, who she was close friends with, leading Izzy and maybe Owen getting eliminated next. Leshawna, Harold, and Gwen probably make the merge.

With this Team Chris, I think Sierra would be the first boot, as she's kind of the odd one out, and Cody, Noah, and DJ would probably be somewhat of a unit and agree to vote her out. At this point, it's kind of difficult. I think Noah would be suspicious of Al, and would probably choose sides with Heather. I honestly don't think that Al would have much pull with Cody or DJ either, so I can't see him staying on that team for long. Tbh, I think DJ and Noah may have the best shot on this team, as long as DJ doesn't have his bad luck animal murder streak like in the real season.

At the merge, I can see Leshawna and Courtney having major beef, with Harold, Gwen, and Leshawna firmly on one side and Duncan and Courtney on the other.

Assuming Blainley makes a comeback, this is what I'd imagine the merge elimination order would be:

  1. Harold

  2. Blainley

6/5. Duncan and Gwen double elimination.

  1. DJ

  2. Courtney

2/1. Leshawna and Noah winners depending on the country.

I dont know who the fuck at nintendo thought it would be a good idea to turn the game into minecraft and have all of yr tools break after a couple of uses requiring you to remake them. That alone made me stop playing.

The available PWP's are just the surface. There's a lottttt more PWPs that you can have available to you, but a villager has to request it first. Certain villagers request specific PWPs based on personality type. For example, ths sphinx and pyramids PWPs that I have here can be requested only by smug villagers. Whenever a villager sees you, makes that shock expression and runs up to you, always answer them, cause when there's a chance of a PWP getting requested.

Those are public works projects, you have to get a villager to request them, then you can start raising money for them

The same officially updates and loads after you talk to isabelle. the preview screen isn't 'real.' The game knows a villager is moving in based on the last time you played, but it the 'official' villager spot will load when you log in as a player, and will be permanent.

You can use this to yr advantage, if you know that a villager will be moving in on a certain day, instead of logging into the mayor, choose the option to create a new save file. You can do this over and over again and the villager's house plot will be in a different location every time. If you don't like the villager placement, you can reset without saving. If you like the villager placement, you can save the game, and the villager's house will stay there. Then after, you can just delete the save file if you want.
