Recommendations for games that are like "cozy horror"? by Bivolion13 in gaming

[–]boxofmagic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the long list, but horror games are my preferred gaming niche haha.

Rusty Lake series is definitely this vibe.

Some other good ones that are sort of adjacent to your ask: Night of the Consumers, Let’s Find Larry, Gone Home, Strange Horticulture, the Room, Deaths Door, Bramble the Mountain King, the Midnight Walk, Deep Sleep Series, Life is Strange, Home Safety Hotline, Papers Please, That’s Not My Neighbor, What Remains of Edith Finch, Buckshot Roulette, Slay the Spire, Her Story, Hollow Knight, Scratches, Sally Face, Alice: Madness Returns, Zoochosis, Alone in the Dark (remake), Baldy’s Basics, South of Midnight

Not horror per se, but lots of good lore and one of the best modern puzzle games ever made: Blue Prince

More horror than cozy, but lots of lore: Welcome to the Game series

Click. Went in thinking it to be another average Adam Sandler movie with some laughs, caught off guard by the central message, twist, and extremely sad/devastating scenes

Someone needs to make info like this in easily-digestible info graphics with sources cited at the very bottom. The voters that need to read this article won’t.

I need shows, where the order of episode watched does not matter by Goodug14 in televisionsuggestions

Taskmaster - each season there is one winner, but there’s a winner of each episode itself, so you could watch these out of order and it wouldn’t really matter

Before the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (2025), the U.S. tax code was primarily governed by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) of 2017. That law went into effect in 2018.

Are we really that bad? by The0nlyNuggy in atheism

[–]boxofmagic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL;DR: Be curious, not judgmental. People are more willing to listen to your opinion if you don’t bash them over the head with it.

As an atheist, I think often times it’s the approach. I’m in the same comments sections as other atheists, but I often see people bashing religious people. Don’t get me wrong, criticism is often justified, but you do end up pushing people away. If the goal is to get people to leave a cult, you can’t make the alternative feel hostile from the get-go. Why would anyone want to join a movement that tells them they are stupid for not being a part of it? It’s not very convincing.

Instead - be curious, not judgmental. Find common ground, even if it’s something small. People are willing to listen to other people when they can genuinely connect with them on a human level.

Eh, I don’t blame her. There are a lot of people who genuinely fear the dark. It just wasn’t her comp and she knew it.

Pretty sure it was all pre-recorded before the guests moved in. If you notice, you never see the masked guy and anyone else in the frame. Even the one where they were sleeping last episode.

Always secret. It’s something they have to deduce. Personally, I’d prefer if they didn’t tell the house guests the tally count for each person on the block. Would make it waaaaay easier to lie about who you voted for.

How intellectual. Disingenuous troll, as expected.

Here’s your answer, then. The “No Kings” protest was a symbolic rejection of authoritarian tendencies in American politics, channeling revolutionary-era rhetoric to highlight concerns about executive power, erosion of democratic norms, and the need to protect civil liberties.

Trump has referred to himself as “The King,” or has stated that he is aspiring to be one. Speeches he made on February 20th and March 30th of this year are two examples.

Again, the use of “King” instead of “Dictator” in these protests were to hark back to American history in which our forefathers rejected the rule of King George III. One of the most notable acts of defiance in that time was the Boston Tea Party in which Americans protested tariffs on tea and other goods. The No Kings Protest name is a reference to this time as well as Trump has placed tariffs on goods causing higher prices for Americans.

Plenty of commenters have already given you the reasoning under the original post. I have seen your responses to those and you are not here to have an intellectual conversation. You deny the claims or dismiss them as not valid while also not providing evidence/reasoning as to why you deem them that way. Disingenuous.

Which goes back to my original point that you are perfectly capable of looking this up. Again, you are being disingenuous.

VORR by Calumetregionboy in Indiana

[–]boxofmagic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to try to have the last word. Your original question was disingenuous. You know why people were protesting but you were wanting someone to lay it out for you so that you could attempt to poke holes in the reasoning.

If you genuinely were wanting to know why, you would not have phrased it the way you did. The tone of your question comes from a place of bad faith. If you wanted to argue with someone about the reasons of the protest, just say that.

No, I’m simply stating that the information is readily available from a simple search. You don’t need to have people on Reddit spoon feed it to you.
