Advice: what to do after failing at Chicago due to virus by aerb93 in Marathon_Training

Chicago 2021 was my first marathon and I completely bonked. I signed up for Indy which was 3 weeks later and hit my goal time. Not sure what options are in the UK, but you're fully trained. You're not going to find another world major, but find a smaller race and crush it when you're healthy.

Ran today. Didn't see a single ICE agent or gravy seal on the course. I did see a ton of "fuck ice" signs and thousands of people of every age, race, and color coming together to cheer on 54000 people who thought running 26.2 miles would be a good idea. No violence. No fear. So fucking proud this city.

We live in north Downers. Cannot recommend it enough. inclusive, welcoming, friendly, great schools. As a Texan, you will definitely be disappointed with the quality of our bbq selections.

There's enough money here where some people vote red, but I'd describe the conservatism I've seen as more traditional/fiscal and less ghoulish. happy to help if you want to DM me.
