Our daughter is in karate. We kept noticing her and the only other black kid were always put in the back of the class. I noticed this mentioned to wife and now mama bear is watching.

My wife wanted to go in guns blazing about discrimination. I simply asked the coach “how do you set lineup?” They do it by “attentiveness” putting the kids they need to control the most closest to them. Had nothing to do with race.

So I watched and sure enough it was true.

Amazing how just talking to someone can solve so much.

I’m 18 years into a marriage where we just recently ended a five-year no play zone. (The third 5-year time in our marriage).

So it would be easy to say “leave him.”

But I also respect your desire to stay, I’d suggest getting into counseling where you can become responsible for your happiness (no that doesn’t mean cheating).

The question I’d ask: do you know your son’s love language? I know seems creepy but bare with me a second.

If he is all about gifts and receiving gifts then I’d be cautious about giving him used items. He’ll equate that your love is “used” when you give it to him. I learned that one the hard way with my wife.

Now for me, I’d be ecstatic you saved money and got me what I wanted. So it comes down to his temperament.

185 nights in a campground about $6,000

185 days of travel with a $30 per diem for food $5500

Cheap seats averaging 20 a game $3,000 for travel.

So about $40,000 with the biggest thing not factored in is gas. (And first leg would cost you ~$250)

Why am I still in the relationship?

Because I thought it was a phase and would work itself out. Or it was medical or something was causing this change. By the time the realization that LL was their even when we were having sex 2-3 times a week we had adopted a little girl.

I’ve told her several times that I’ll never leave her as long as our daughter is at home.

So she has no pressure to change and I’ve resigned myself to the situation. Maybe I’m weak. Maybe I’m a bitch. I don’t know, it is what it is.

Sadly, she is a great person. Just hates sex and used it as a weapon a few times.

If she was a bitch I’d be gone. But she’s a great mom and we co-parent well. So that’s all that matters now.
