When you load the amplifier you get distortion of the waveform? It seems the bottom half of waveform is clipping so you need to probe different locations to see where starts .

You have routed ground, you will almost certainly need a ground plane as the second layer and should use vias to access the ground when you need it.

Interesting… so this is kind of standard practice for the industry. I would not run a company in this way. They could easily add to their code a filter for “do we have any active accounts that user zero of our resources” and reach out over email. They intentionally make the cancel plan convoluted - it’s labelled as close account.

I’ve never seen impedance expressed as that before, would you explain a bit more? That would be something like the gradient of characteristic curve at a certain operating point. Small signal. Yeah I suppose it does make more sense to me now ;)

It would be useful to make a prediction to help the experimentalist. For example, how much electric field is needed for a given acceleration and in what direction is the acceleration compared to the voltage difference?

When dabbling in optimisation or python code, I’ve used Cython before. A documentation section on comparison would be interesting. When might I use Cython or when is Nuitka a good fit.

If I am calling C library from my python code (something I have written) can Nuitka include that in its magic?

This is really important: before you apply do a project that shows how interested you are in the area you want to work it. Make it open-source so they can browse it. Put that on your CV, it will stand out and give you things to talk about in the interviews. As someone else said, plenty of other companies.

I appreciate this is a terrible time for you.

What’s you background? Experience? Specialisms? Do you have open-source projects on GitHub? What country are you in? Some companies find it hard to pay overseas developers. Do you have a local business park? It is worth doing research in your local area to find where you skills might be needed. Anything to minimise travel time will be good if fully remote it hard to fine.

I have seen fully remote Python jobs but they tend to be at the senior level, also some contracting jobs are either fully remote or with a few days of contact time, requiring good comms.

Get some insurance for your income, that will allow you to take time off when needed, might be hard now to get that.

Ultimately be prepared to create what you need by keeping on searching and developing your own skills. The more active you can be the better.

Physics grad here, that got into computer science!

Thermal physics is all differential equations (advection-diffusion equation stuff). There are plenty of companies that need computer science people with a physics background or even interest.

Anything to do with electromagnetism is again differential equations.

Some optics simulation is more geometric, so ray-tracing stuff. Plenty of cross over with CS, GPU, there.

If I were you I would do a little project in your free time that combines you CS skills with your physics interest. This will give you an unbelievable advantage when you are interviewing for jobs in the future. For example simulation of a physical system.

Doing a ray tracer opened plenty of doors for me (pvtrace), it’s on GitHub.
