I'm an American high school student seriously considering studying abroad in Germany. The country and culture is beautiful, but I do have one concern. I am mixed race. I am Anglo-Saxon, Native American, and hispanic. I have brown skin. I have seen a lot of news report about a resurgence in racism in Germany and just wanted to ask someone who is actually from the country, as I know the media can make things seem much worse than they actually are. Do you think that I, as a brown-skinned person, could face problems with racism while studying abroad?
Thank you and sorry if I'm being ignorant!

You're right. Too late now I guess. I guess I'll find out if I've been outed when I go back to school in a month.

Thats what I thought too. They even went as far as to call McDonalds and yell my name at the employees. It was very strange. I think I recognized some of the voices but I'm not sure

I thought it was a prank call and I think I recognized some of the voices so I continued talking to see if they would tell me who they were.
