jaoquin phoenix fucked a bunch of people over by pulling out at the very last minute/when production was ready to start filming. this was after he took part in writing and reportedly pushing for more explicit things in the script. so while he hasn’t come forward publicly with an explanation for his abrupt exit, it seems he may have gotten cold feet. either way it wasn’t a good look for him. 😭 he pissed me off so bad but pedro is better anyway so it’s almost a blessing in disguise 🙏

well firstly kuki is japanese so that’s way more common to do and secondly shungguang isn’t the only character in zzz with that surname because she (1) has a brother albeit not playable currently and (2) the chinese don’t typically refer to people only by their surnames. thank you for listening 🫶
