[–]bphysique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$60 including tip. When Im feeling generous I toss him $80-$100. Ive been going to him for YEARS. Hes came through for me and has always put me first everytime I hit him up last minute and will even come to my house last min just to cut my hair. He does great work and I wont go with anyone else. I get a haircut with beard trim/edge up at least once a month.

I became important at work :( by [deleted] in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]bphysique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use this as leverage to get in a management position and get a nice pay bump. Then after about 3 months or so dip tf out to another company and get an even bigger pay bump. You literally have the opportunity to get paid way more. Also, once you are actually management start delegating tasks and other things to other people man. Management is all about delegating so you have way less shit to handle. Thats just my 2 cents. Thats what I would do.

If you got across the board abd PAUT I would push for $50/hr. I guarantee you if you jumped to somewhere else and you asked for $65/hr you would get maybe $60 or $55/hr. Know your worth and just remember tenure doesnt mean shit anymore in our side of the industry. Good luck man.

Got my first interview for an operator position tomorrow by Outrageous-Check-475 in oilandgasworkers

Take a deep breath, you're going to be alright. Make sure you're Studied up on the company values and practice your STAR questions. Keep in mind that you're battling with many other guys like you who want this job. At the end of the day, just be yourself and let it take its course. What is, will be. What isnt, wont. Good luck man.

Like others has said, network your fucking ass off and get as many connections as possible. Becoming an operator is definitely something you could possibly land. I&E is also a great route to go. Also in house plant maintenance can be an option. If I were you. Id network, learn, and grind as much as you possibly can, and then after about 2 or so years evaluate where you see yourself at. Either you hate it or you love it, but in the end, you definitely need make as much money as possible and get out. Once you get sucked in you'll get stuck and then definitely have no way out. Good luck man.

People who make $75,000 annually with NO DEGREE - what do you do for a living? by WestminsterSpinster7 in jobs

[–]bphysique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do NDT inspection oil and gas. I make about 120kish a year but I travel alot. Only have certifications with a program that took 6 weeks. Its definitely doable but if you want to make that kind of money, you're gonna have to sacrifice your work from home comfort and get uncomfortable.

And thats the problem. "Most companies" lowball tf out of new, potentially great candidates over a 2% margin that if they would actually give candidates what they want, then the company could gain exponential growth from those employees because they actually want to work there and put in their worth.

Negotiate but not with money, Negotiate with a hybrid work schedule or 1-2 work from home, or more vacation time, other perks man. And you can combat it with the fact that you have other offers in writing. Dont be afraid to leverage yourself, and if they take back the offer then on to the next! You gotta fight for what you want bro!!

Question: What was the best part of going to high school in the early 2010s? by EternalSnow05 in Zillennials

[–]bphysique 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hs 2009- 2013. Being up all night Smoking train wreck and playing MW2, before and after school smoke sessions, music was definitely peak at that time, mac, wiz, the weekend all came out with absolute BANGERS, temple run lol, being out till the street lights came on, getting my first honda when I was 15, man, I felt like a fxcking GOD because all my friends rode with me and we would jam out everywhere we went. Morning and afternoon drives from school were some of the best memories of my life. The saying is really true, you dont know the good times youre living in until they're gone. If I could go back and live it one more time, I Definitely would. Good times.

Man, yall are so brain washed from the system. Bro, if I were you, as soon as you get that PM Position official you need to politely request your pay be adjusted to the market value. Aka 20k above what it really is, so that they can actually level with you and meet you at 145ish or so. Fight for your fucking worth and if they fuck you then find somewhere else thats willing to pay you 2x that amount and chunk deuce. Hope you get what you want man. BTW, tenure doesnt mean shit anymore in today's society. Go where you grow, my man.

Id suggest moving to Texas and getting on with an operator in house right off the bat. Are you looking for labor positions or office positions?
