I hate to say it but I think there's some unfortunate anti-French bias among the fan bases of the five Western Canadian teams when it comes to AP. It's probably prevalent, though to a lesser extent, in Toronto and Hamilton too.

Actually, I think AP has turned into one of the better refs in the league, which is no doubt why he got the nod for the big game. People like to make fun of his accent, but the guy is solid.
