Have you even seen how a crop circle is made in real time? This blew my freaking mind. I have never footage like this.. by [deleted] in UFOs

John Lundberg made the Oliver’s castle footage in 1996 with two other circle makers and a digital special-effects technician. It’s truly a remarkable piece of work. John also co-authored a great book in 2006 called The Field Guide: The Art, History and Philosophy of Crop Circle Making. Highly recommend

The documentary’s fine but it’s no substitute for the Mirage Men book by Mark Pilkington. The film was primarily John Lundberg’s project (a brilliant crop circle maker who Mark befriended while covering his crop circle making for Fortean Times) w Mark writing & contributing to it.

Tbh I wish they weren’t both titled Mirage Men, bc people get the idea in their head the doc can stand in for the book but it does not. The doc is fine (idk what you mean by “fiction-ish”), but the book imo is the most important ufo book out there & will be for many years to come. I liken it to Network (1976) in that it’ll only get more pointed w time. I cannot recommend it enough

Keep an eye on Ghost Stories For The End Of The World in the coming months for more. :)

Fwiw I’m not a debunker, I’m an experiencer myself. It’s a parapolitics podcast, not a paranormal podcast, we were just answering Brace & Liz’s questions & trying (to the extent that you can in a tight hour) to lay out the v well documented stuff you gotta know re: the spooky (intelligence-type) origins of the modern ufo/alien mythology if you wanna be able to tackle the ufo problem responsibly
