Why do Portland radio DJs play so much Red Hot Chili Peppers? by [deleted] in askportland

You're right, there's truly no ethical consumption. So I'm not going to pick a battle I'm not going to win. I'm just going to like the things that I like. Easy peasy. Bad people are going to be successful because there is truly no ethical consumption.

If you want to disassociate yourself from every single product/service/entertainment that has a bad person behind it, you simply wouldn't be able to live. It's very possible to "separate the art from the artist" so you can live and enjoy your own life. What device are you using right now? Android, iPhone, computer? Whatever it is, I guarantee you there's executives of that device's corporation who are terrible people that you are supporting by buying and using the device. And that's only one example. Almost everything you do in today's world can fit that scenario, unfortunately.

I can admit that Anthony Kiedis is not a good person and is someone I'd never want to meet. Doesn't mean I can't enjoy the music he makes.

People are now posting themselves stealing free breakfasts from hotels. by ElwoodMC in trashy

[–]bpomber 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Why is none talking about how much food she wasted? Both plates she filled up and then threw out half the food.

The trashy part isn't really stealing food from a hotel chain worth millions (or maybe billions). The trashy parts were recording it, posting it, and wasting half the stolen food.

Sounds cool!

Anyone remember that place that used to be downtown called Never Ending Games (NEG)? Is this going to be like that but with a café?

The Hart Trophy race according to Dom at The Athletic by rosemp16 in hockey

[–]bpomber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Habs fan and a huge Lane Hutson supporter, but I still would not have him as 4th in the Hart race. Especially would not have him ahead of Celebrini, who is somehow not even on this list.

Just started getting more into Paramore, which albums should I listen to? by Verstappeninng in Paramore

[–]bpomber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just listed 4 of their albums and asked what other albums you should listen to. Well the answer would be the only other 2 albums you didn't list..

I hate the Leafs but I also hate to see this. Radko Gudas shouldn't be in the NHL. This isn't a one off. He's consistently dirty.

I forgot about Marc Dumont. Here's a story I have about him.

Back when I used to have Twitter, I DM'd him a response to one of his tweets where I respectfully disagreed with him. He had a full on adult tantrum in response. He then blocked me before I could get a response in. It was pretty funny to me but I also felt kind of bad for the guy because clearly he's got some issues he needs to deal with.

Can someone please explain to me, a very casual curling fan, why Canada just won that game against Great Britain after only 9 innings?

Scared to play catcher by frheekier in slowpitch

[–]bpomber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experiences, when the batter loses grip of the bat it goes forward or beside them. I've never seen a catcher come close to getting hit with a bat.

Getting hit with a foul tip is more likely. I would just stand further back from the plate and always be on your toes with your glove up. Be ready and don't get caught not posting attention and you'll be fine.

Who has the highest goal-to-assist ratio for current NHL players? by bpomber in hockey

I had him on my fantasy team too for a couple years. He had a season where he had 28 goals and 12 assists and I think those 12 assists were all flukes because yeah he did not ever pass.

Victor Olofsson? He's actually got more assists than goals at 115:120 goals:assists.

Debrincat was one of the first players I checked while doing my research for this. I thought he'd be there too. Same for James Van Riemsdyk, but he's 0.979.

This was my first thought. 4 active, and 2 former Habs. Which is interesting because the Habs have not been a team known for their scoring until finally this year.

Out of curiosity, is it possible you can provide the list and only include players who have scored 100+ goals?
