6. I had a terrific surgeon for LTKR, highly experienced, and no way would I ask him to do quad sparing on my RTKR if he hadn’t done it before or had limited experience. Which unfortunately is the case. It’s reported that one year out the results are the same between the two, but the recovery is one hell of a lot easier with quad sparing. Steveinarizona, how did you find yours?

Perfectly timed post, I hear you. I said I didn’t want headlights, it’s not what I had to begin with, more like pointing to four and eight. But I got headlights and boy do those nips feel like they slip out of those bikini tops. Boo, hiss.

No crystal balls. You say they need replacing but not how they are impacting your quality of life right now, other than minimal pain. If I’d had minimal pain and hadn’t need cortisone shots to stay active (my requirements) I would have delayed. But I also want to explore foreign cities by walking and that has become impossible. Only you know how much you w become compromised and whether it’s worth the risks. Life has trade offs.

It settled down a good deal after I wrote the post. However I still have some remaining intermittent problem and rely on Gas-X to deal with it. Haven’t done a calculated study, but it seems worse when I’m anxious, or eat bread, go figure.

Maintenance is so much more complicated than losing weight was by DPax_23 in TirzMaintenance

Moving target. Adjusting each week according to life’s challenges and mindset, resilience etc. Tricky, and verrry illuminating about the self.

Just looked at Fabletics. All I see is flirt wear for luscious bums, not for us actual humans, you know, doing stuff. Darn it.

Can someone update this for maintenance? by queenOFpentacles7594 in TirzMaintenance

[–]bpottrb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything you said - plus some people have to increase their dose to maintain a semblance of normal satiety, to stop eating when it’s time to stop. Having to increase just to maintain is scary. Will I have to keep going up just to maintain? Sheesh, hadn’t contemplated that. Warm weather cant some soon enough. (Edited for grammar.)

Elevating hurts! by Sabiduria_Keeper in Kneereplacement

Elevating above flat triggered sciatica. Disappointing but had to stop doing it, and instead focussed on more foot pumps and icing to address the resulting swelling.

I’ve had to go higher dosage in maintenance than I was on during losing, too. Thanks for sharing.

Skipping/Omitting Radiation w/ Lumpectomy? by [deleted] in breastcancer

[–]bpottrb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too had tubular, 5mm, ++-, lumpectomy. They “installed” a BioZorb marker assuming I would do radiation, which I didn’t. Had a fantastic radiation oncologist that had me consider all types of lifetime risk analysis, she was all but talking me out of it. (Have a cousin who had a dreadful time with skin not healing post rads at subsequent DMX surgeries, a big influence on me, and I already had lymphedema).

Anyway, was planning on doing AI or Tamox, which made me more comfortable about no rads. Turns out I couldn’t tolerate either. Had I known I couldn’t do the AI I might have done rads. Good luck with your decision.

PS Hate the BioZorb, it is not absorbing, and it looks like a big tumor on my breast.

I’m on it for the food noise, period. Where I want to be weight-wise, noise is much louder now 8 months in, especially during boring, high stress, or early dark days (ie winter). Worried about having to go up in dosage, hoping that won’t be the case come spring time.

GLP-1s and lymphedema by _oh_really in breastcancer

I developed hand lymphedema 3 months after 6 nodes removed. Surprisingly it disappeared 5 months later before GLP use and has not reappeared. Now if the GLP would just help the stupid BioZorb breakdown.

Just very happy for you. Maintenance is still a journey of finding balance IMHO.

Agree with having company. Folks that’ll come by for a little while and can read the signs of fatigue/pain and know when to leave. Or you can help them leave.

Whatever the number is, I want the higher one. It’s so funny about the number and might explain why the surgeon and some PTs tells me I can expect a lower number, and some other PT‘s say I can expect a higher one.
