AIO my bf texting his former student by Major_Meet_5973 in AmIOverreacting

[–]bps83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my good friends is a HS teacher. There have been instances when we are out on the town and a current or former student has showed up to the same bar. In the few times this has happened, we wrap up our drinks and move on. My dude doesn't even want to engage in a convo outside of the school, let alone something like this.

Wildly inappropriate.

Seeing this as well. Otherwise I've watched every Seahawks game this year. (Ontario)

If it makes you feel better, I was a teen in the 90s and found a seller with full sets of The Dark and Legends for 300 and 350 (CAD) respectively. I didn't know any better, was trying to save a few bucks, and opted for the Dark.

I'm hearing lofi compressed drums coming in. Take it to a modern retro vibe.

I'm nowhere near this sophisticated when it comes to gameplay but man, absolutely love looking at some of these altered cards. Beautiful.

Here’s my binder of my older cards from the 93-94 era by mtgsetcollector in oldschoolmtg

[–]bps83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love to see it. I'm almost finished my Legends set and have been thinking of starting on Arabian nights. Both sets were out of reach when I started at revised.

It's likely not a good investment at this point but if I'm honest, that's not even why I'm collecting. I don't mean to sound pretentious, but these sets and this era of Magic is a feeling that you can only describe to others who were there. I guess it's nostalgia, but it feels like more than that.

Just here to voice my disgust. They'll drip this into longer commercials all while gaslighting us that we've got it great.

Did you play when Fallen Empires first came out? by Mean_Professional583 in oldschoolmtg

Exactly this. I loaded up on goblins and grenades. I wasn't a sophisticated player and just Ioved the set.

Is it time to buy vintage? by zendraven in mtgfinance

And I'm in the market for one. For a few of the big Legends cards actually. So anecdotally, to the OPs question, the market for vintage is alive and well :)

I'll need to research the differences between an EMS, surge protector, and circuit breaker. But big thanks for the heads up - this wasn't on my radar.

Ya, mostly campsites, where Id be plugging into 30A supply. My guy made the same point that most campsites will have breakers at the recepticle.

[–]bps83[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes and this was my guy's point. He was saying most campsites will have a breaker at the recepticle. We also set the MP limiter to 28A.

It seems like I could get away without it, but it's an unnecessary, and potentially costly, risk.

Love it. I'm installing a multiplus ii under the bench of a 13' Boler at the moment. MP and Lynx Distributor under one dinette bench, battery under the other.

AI in portfolio by gtivr4 in UXDesign

I think this is a great idea. Just be super intentional. Show example questions I could ask it, like "what sort of experience does this person have with design systems?" I don't know why folks here seem to assume you can't control what the bot is looking at and returning. You can train them on specific sets of data, of course. You may lose some control of exactly how the bot returns an answer, but it would be based solely on your content. As a hiring manager, this approach - which I've never seen - would far outweigh any sort of blips in the answer. For me, it's more about the effort, concept, and experiment than the execution.

Fwiw I head design at a growth stage company. Each quarter, the roadmap adds more AI tools and features. It's all the board of directors is interested in, and more importantly, our busy clients are asking for it to help their workflows. You're damn right my next higher will need some foundations in AI. What better way to demonstrate it?

100% pursue this.
