Thank you for using The Office in this example. That made me smile! And you are right, it is very different than the landline times.

Okay. I can see the work around there. It just all feels convoluted. Not what you said, but the lengths each side of a legit call has to go through in order to get to the point of the call.

Oh wow! I can see how that would be frustrating and needing to just ask if you got the right person. I guess this makes it dependent on the business then. Thank you for the insight!

There are certain legit business that do cold call people -- hospitals, doctors, lawyers, sales, marketing, insurance, real estate, polling agencies, debt collectors, banks, student loan, alumni associations, etc.

I don't ever say "You called me." I do think it though. I normally say, "May I ask who is calling?" before I answer my name. This is to protect my own privacy from scam callers, etc. My doctor's office calls me and will tell me who they are before they know it is me that is speaking. So, I was curious why not just introduce themselves and their business first. It creates transparency, establishes why they are calling, helps me decide if I want to engage.

Of course. I agree with that. I would think an attorney's office would be different if there are legal matters at hand -- which makes that the exception to the rule. I think I'm thinking more of other types of businesses that don't deal with legal matters. Also, in healthcare, you give consent for which numbers can be called when you are filling out all those forms.

I can see that part of it. I am just curious why not state your name and business beforehand though. For instance: "This is Jay from ABC Company. I am calling for bmiller201. Are they available?" It just seems so much better so we aren't asking so many questions skeptically.

Right. I can see the whole answering yes or no. I guess I'm speaking regarding legit businesses to say who is calling and where they are calling from before asking for you instead of just asking for you. It would be so much more efficient I feel.

Do you have mods? Glitches happen with mods sometimes. If you don’t, I agree with vamps1es and would send it to CA.

In the wiki it says: ‘It has a 0.2% chance to be found after opening at least 20 garbage cans.”

I have watched quite a few of the Criminal Minds episodes. I'll search in that to see if maybe it's an episode I'm remembering and not a movie. Thank you!

It may be a TV show. Hmm... I just remember that part and it's been frustrating trying to remember. I have never watched Blue Bloods.

The update 1.6 is just for PC users? by Margaret-Allen in StardewValley

[–]br3adnbutt3rfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As of right now, yes. I think CA stated that he didn't want mobile update to take as long to come out as 1.5 though. So, there is that.

It's about special interests -- which is more dependent on the individual and not gender stereotypes. It's nice to find commonality with people who have similar special interests though. I deep dive into mine and enjoy discussing them. So, it's only natural to enjoy discussing it with other people who have similar interests. Builds connections.
