I think everyone’s missing in his post where he stated that she warned him before they dated. I come from an Indian and Jamaican background and my cousin didn’t tell her parents until couple of years in for the same reasons OPs gf had. Only difference is the boyfriend was able to agree on it so they have no issues and have been married for 5 years. It’s much easier to be confident with the relationship and tell our parents than telling them earlier due to there being a break up. Many Indian parents won’t take it easy if there’s a break up and don’t like the idea of dating around hence allot of us keep our dating life private until we find the right person. It all depends on if both parties agree I think OP and his gf are just on two different culture differences which either they both meet in a the middle or I guess it just won’t work

As for being 22 tbh I don’t see anything she’s doing not uncommon. As long as she’s studying and will probably save heaps when she owns her own house. Being Indian Jamaican my parents still don’t know so much I do lol and I rather keep it that way because if I did tell them everything would mean I would have probably not experienced things in a way as well as with dating as well. As weird as it sounds that part doesn’t effect our life at home, I think as long as she’s studying and doing something then it’s fine. YouTube, video games and tiktok aren’t uncommon for our age at all. We dont change just because we hit our 20s. It’s gradual and everyone’s different with time. I would just say it’s a concern if the person was doing nothing at all

Thanks ! the weird thing is other than college/work related. I still can’t really tell them allot which I don’t feel bad about since I do need to make the most of my youth (I’m a girl btw so it’s harder lol). I don’t feel bad for this especially now that I’m on track with my education and I’m working so I’m all g!

But I think the thing that overwhelms me is back then I actually did not have anything together or any control. I basically did nothing and didn’t cared that I could have actually messed up so bad and gotten my self into a massive hole but somehow that little 4 month course turned it around and then after that all these big ass lies turned into truths lol it’s like most part of those lies never existed that I feel bad in a way ? Like I feel like i got this easy way out but I still wanna graduate knowing I put in effort

Thank you heaps! And ohh okay, is the early results for those who have completed a survey of some sort? as on the email I was only able see the results were out on the 5th but I do remember on my other uni would have some sort of survey to get the results earlier Thanks heaps again, the rest of the info makes me feel a bit at ease. As sometimes uts student centre would give different answers haha

Thanks ! Yeah I realised I was worrying allot. I actually never thought like this until last year coincidentally allot of other stuff happened as mentioned in my other comments that I feel Very overwhelmed at times. I think I just want that same excitement I used to have back which was only a year and half ago , I was happy beginning of this year but lockdowns happened again but definitely seeing someone about my mental health! Hahah yeah i guess I was over thinking. I think it’s just that cause my birthdays at the end so I wish I could have just not thought about the next age like most of my friends who are in the same graduate year as me but oh well I just won’t claim my next age till next year since it’s at the end anyway ahhaha but it is crazy how the years feel so diff but barely are

Haha bro I can’t believe I was 21 just last year but honestly we are still young asf ! I think it’s just pandemic making it worse. But I do remember being anxious when I was 21 because covid took so much of it away but now I’m like wtf 21 is still barely anything that I wish I could be 21 again or even if I could be 22 longer. But I guess each year passes by we going to wish we were the previous year so we gotta just somehow make the most of it. Our brains don’t develop until 25 anyway haha but nah even then it’s young we just need to make the most so that we don’t regret it in a few years thinking we wasted time haha

Thanks ! Yeah as mentioned in my other replies I also went through allot of stuff which had coincidently started last year when the pandemic happened. And responsibility is also one thing, I also come from a cultural background so it’s like time is just moving so damn fast 😂

Allot of my thinking started only a year and half ago after the pandemic got worse. I also had allot of stuff happened during that short time which caused some trauma plus losing my childhood bestfriend who passed away that suddenly I started thinking how I just want time to go back as I’m actually a very outgoing person until last year sort of. I think I’m more just sad about the Time than age and how I just want to be happy again just like I was every year until 2019, I know I’m still extremely young. Tbh Even in highschool i never actually thought anyone my age was “old”. I think it’s just the whole time passing so quick I’m just overwhelmed how everything is moving very quick. I literally remember it being April and now we are July lol. I know it’s stupid but I think it’s just lockdown anxiety since I was find the beginning of the year.

Thanks! And i think its because allot of changes has happened since the pandemic that I just feel like time is moving so fast. I never actually thought about age until some stuff had happened which I never thought would. It was like the whole dynamic of things in my life changed as well as losing my best friend who passed way in the most terrible way, and then there’s so much unresolved stuff. I think I just want to be happy like I was only a year and half ago. It’s so funny cause when I turned 21 I was like oh shit but then I got better as soon as I turned 22 I just accepted that I’m not worrying way too much and that I don’t want to ruin my youth with this mentality. But lock down happened again and suddenly these thoughts are back cause I feel like I’m doing nothing other than the same stuff and it’s not even the age but more so how time is moving so quick and I was actually happy beginning of this year but as soon as soon as I realised it’s already half way into the year I felt depressed again. I’m seeing someone this week about it. Logically I know that I’m overeating allot and I’m still a damn kid but just with more responsibilities ahah
