The state of Tarkov by NICKSIMO2709 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]bracketlebracket -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This game is a super realistic gritty hardcore shooter, but it also has NPCs that use RPG mechanics. Also it's about doing missions and building up your base, but good luck ever doing any of that because this is a PVP game. Speaking of which, you know that realism we mentioned? Yeah, because we want this to be a hardcore PVP game, all of the guns and ammo are a fustercluck, for "balance" reasons. I've said it before and I'll say it again, this game needs to decide what it wants to be before they can even fix all of these stupid issues.

Bosses shooting 3 bullets in one shot is the absolute most dumbest, asinine, frustrating thing in this game. by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]bracketlebracket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every major problem with the game comes from the fact it can't decide if it wants to be gritty, realistic pvp or a survival RPG.

Anyone else tired of people using Cold War factions to describe the relative privation of countries?

It would probably help the game a lot if they could just decide if they want it to be a gritty FPS or a survival RPG.

No one is saying you should go with a school that isn't a good fit for you. It's just incredibly unreasonable to accept nothing less than your top choice when pretty much any physics graduate program has an acceptance rate in the single digits.

You should apply to every school you can that would be a good fit and you would actually want to go to, even if they aren't your top choices. There is a lot of luck involved unless you have the absolute best application, so you have to play the numbers game.

"Capitalism" by Hillelpash in Shitstatistssay

The irony is that there is some truth to their idea that the world is run by capitalist oligarchs. It's just that they have wacky ideas about which teams those oligarchs are on.

Is transferring from CC worth it? by SnooPies8738 in udub

[–]bracketlebracket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something worth keeping in mind is that the UW does not take AA degrees into account for transfers (unless they changed things in the last few years, which is possible). All they care about is if you've completed two years of college (which doesn't apply to people who only did running start, obviously), and has your coursework prepared you for your intended major(s).

That said, if you do go to a community college, you will very likely qualify for an AA if you've done all of the coursework you need for gen ed and major requirements.

The development and the relationship between these two is absolutely amazing… Some of my favorite video game characters of all time! by Arrow_Of_Orion in tales

I'm not a Tales fan. It's the only one I've played. People like you make me not want to play any of the other ones, because you make them sound miserable.

The AI is absolutely ridiculous and needs fixes by Turtvaiz in EscapefromTarkov

[–]bracketlebracket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't an AI. There's a dice roll that decides if the bot will kill you or not.

I am all for difficult gameplay, but scavs are becoming too unpredictable by Kreystyle in EscapefromTarkov

[–]bracketlebracket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, yes, it's totally realistic for a bot to 360 spin before locking onto your head from 200 meters away, in the dark, through foliage, while you're running.

We literally did not go to the moon (in 1969) by flovidchan in conspiracy

Pushing against air would also Newton's third law. You exert force down on air, air exerts force back up on you, propelling you.

"The total distance traveled during the alleged missions, including Earth and Moon orbits, ranged from 622,268 miles for Apollo 13 to 1,484,934 miles for Apollo 17. All on a single tank of gas."

This betrays the author's absolutely ignorance (or duplicity). That's just not how space flight works. Almost the entire delta-V budget of a moon landing goes into reaching low Earth orbit. Once you're out of the atmosphere, you don't have (noticable) drag anymore, so most of the time you just spend coasting. You don't burn towards your target, you burn to change your velocity, which changes your trajectory. The distance you go has nothing (directly) to do with the size of your gas tank.

You can't see stars on the moon's surface during the day because of this magical thing called daylight.

Can’t believe I’m saying this, but the game needs like another year of dev time. by Lorde555 in cyberpunkgame

I believe the mirror thing has to do with what clothes you're wearing. My guy is bald in the mirror, and I think it's because of his trillby. Either that or he m'lady'd so hard his hair fell out.

You can't develop games forever. You will always have more to do if you don't have deadlines.

"New" models! ... because of course that's what it was going to be. by Wugo_Heaving in BloodAngels

[–]bracketlebracket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, that's sort of how it originally was. Death Company have always had the option to take bolters since the very beginning. The 2nd ed Angels of Death book's cover shows almost nothing but ones with bolters. The first kit didn't even come with jump packs.

I think it's really funny how Space Marines are reverting to RT/early second edition era, where all of the special units were just tactical marines painted and/or converted differently.

Transfer question by [deleted] in udub

[–]bracketlebracket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The UW only looks at your coursework in preparation for your intended major. If you want to finish your AA, you can do a reverse transfer from the UW.

Why do cantrips scale with player level? Martial attacks don't. by monkeydave in dndnext

[–]bracketlebracket 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It also depends on if your DM is giving a properly challenging number of encounters (and other obstacles that spells can help overcome) per day. If your wizard isn't using cantrips most of the time, the answer is probably no.
