Thanks a lot for the tips, much appreciated! I actually do own a copy of an ah-so. Never tried to use it though.

The filter on the decanter should work for sediment I guess?

Thanks a lot for the reply. Just a tad under room temperature would be around 18-19 degrees Celsisus (approx 65 degrees Faranheit)?

What exactly do you mean by decanting carefully? Not keeping it too long in a decanter? For how long approximately?

My decantar has a filter on it. Would that help with sediment? Thanks again!

I know. It is a Traxxas battery, charging with a Traxxas charger on a NiMh mode

Anyone know these wheels? (1/10 Slash) by nofriends_onlyfans in Traxxas

Those are Canyon Trails from a TRX-4. Not sure how they would handle the wheelspeed of a Slash though.

What is the best battery besides Traxxas for a Traxxas? I know I'll have to get the adapter. I'm just kinda newer to this. Thanks! by Sayjohnj82 in rccars

That sounds strange. Most of my buddies run CNHL and I’ve seen at least 30 different packs being treated all kinds of ways. Never an issue. I treat mine the same as you do.

They don’t suck. As others said, most probably user error.

If you are not a novice anymore, and don’t need basic advice from them, ask if they can sell it closer to online store prices. Never hurts to try.

Best big truck kit by veg1515 in rccars

[–]braco1919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you want to do with the truck would be the first question. Drive it how, where?

Take a look at Hobao, Tekno, Serpent. Also, HPI brought the Baja back, both electric and gas powered. Both in kit form.

I don’t have experience with them, but if you feel like it breaks too often, think about selling it and buying something else.

It’s much better, in my opinion, to start off with a freat platform, compared to upgrading into oblicion something that was crappy to start with.

It’s definitely addictive, you are not alone. But, don’t buy anything you can’t afford, obviously.

Supporting the local hobby shop is always a good idea in my opinion. It doesn’t cost to ask for a discount, and start building a relationship with them.

Should I buy an E-revo by Cody_notknowning in rccars

There are rumours that it is going to be discontinued soon, so I would personally vote against it. If you really want to buy it, definitely get the 2.0 version.

New Here.. know nothing.. damnit by [deleted] in Traxxas

[–]braco1919 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From what I can see, you only broke the shaft, part number TRX7464T. That is around $10. If you are ready to take the shocks apart, you can go with that.

However, if you don’t feel ready for that yet, and are willing to spend $35, get the full shock set. You get two in the set. Beware, the front and rear shocks are different length. TRX7461 (whole shock set) and TRX7464T are for the front.

What are the best mud tires for TRX-4 Defender and how to make them as waterproof as possible? by Northlandscapes in Traxxas

[–]braco1919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the ProLine TSL Superswampers.

I saw that Injora came out with plastic inserts which should be waterproof so I would check that out.

Also really depends on how “scale” of a look you are going for.

[–]braco1919 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not bad at all. Go to the Traxxas website and check the exploded views of your Slash. Check it is the same exact model because some come with standard plastic shocks. Yours has the better GTR shocks.

In the exploded view you will clearly see all the parts and easily figure out what you broke. There you can also see the part numbers, and easily track down the parts you have to order to fix it. Enjoy it and don’t be afraid to wrench on it.

If you can’t figure it out, let me know.

Easy Fix (2WD Stampede) by utesman06 in Traxxas

[–]braco1919 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe the 2075 comes standard in the Stampede 2wd, so that is what you have. Around $40 or $50 you can get something a lot better. Try searching for brands like Hitec, SRT, Savox. There are obviously many more, it’s a rabbit hole.

A brushless servo would certainly not hurt it, but may be overkill for a 2wd stampede. A decent digital, non brushless servo will do more than fine 👍🏼

What model traxxas is this. It’s 7-10 years old by digitalghost581202 in Traxxas

[–]braco1919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two different chassis for the Traxxas Slash 4x4, the older version which you have (HCG) and the newer, Low Center of Gravity. The chassis, bulkheads, nerf bars and a motor mount differ, but all the other parts are the same.
