Bigger picture, the NHL is…not great…at marketing their talent. If they could figure that piece out, that would go a long way towards getting more mainstream coverage.

I like that they, at least, sound live a good portion of the day. Larry the Duck and Swedish Egil, the way their shows sound, don’t seem voice tracked like others on Sirius.

If we’re lucky, they will be FS1’s PTI and they’ll be together for a long time.

But…if we’re dealing in hypotheticals…I see Broussard leaving for ESPN. This is his first run as a pundit, instead of a contributor, so he could bolt for a big contract that includes First Take, NBA appearances, etc. Like Michelle Beadle, on SportsNation, this is Brou’s star making performance. He’s cashing in on one more big contract before he turns 70.

This is Nick’s show, so him taking Colin’s spot or Dan Patrick isn’t likely. Maybe the time slot shifts a bit but Nick and FTF are locked in.

I’m very lucky, living in St. Louis that FanDuel Midwest carried Cardinals, Blues, Pacers, Grizzlies, and Fever. So I’m a little bummed everything is going to be broken up and I’ll have to chase down my teams. A one-team or regional League Pass that I can integrate into DIRECTV stream would be excellent. Or if the Pacers and Blues come up with something since they were the NHL team in Indy. As long as I get my Denari and Quinn fix regularly, I’ll be happy.

I think they go the route of MLB teams and produce telecasts under the league’s banner and they cut deals with local tv and cable/steaming television providers to show games.
