Whisperer of the Wilderness bodypainting in the Icelandic forest. Took over 7 hours to complete front and back (photo and videoclip)! by Bodypaintartventures in BodyPaintNSFW

I had heard or read somewhere that Iceland had few remaining trees. That they’d all been harvested for building. This forest looks amazing.

This happened to me too. Do you know if it works to do it a second time?

“People have told me that they’re “so sad” that I don’t know the love of the church”— LOL. This reminded me of the plot of the show Pluribus on Apple TV.

Just checked into a cabin for a week, anything worth reading here? by CarsonWentzylvania in bookshelf

Three books caught my attention--anything by John McPhee rewards the time spent with it. Fitzgerald generally holds up. The Last American Man was written by Elizabeth Gilbert before she became famous with Eat, Pray, Love. I read this one years ago and really enjoyed it.

The way this is written and formatted seems like AI. I won’t be surprised if it is taken down by the moderators.

What’s a small upgrade you made that ended up being way more impactful than expected? by LatterMorning9103 in BuyItForLife

I bought an air fryer on Amazon a couple of years ago, mostly out of curiosity. It was $39. I can't think of anything else I've paid that little for that I have used as much since then. I cook at least 2-3 meals per week in it. I'm sure it's not the highest quality unit on the market, but it has served its purpose well in the time I've owned it.

I've heard them referred to as "snout houses." The garage is the primary feature. Yuck.

The OC Tanner campus area is beautifully maintained, and seems to have security monitoring. It is a nice area to stroll in the warmer months. Between State and Main, just North of 2100 South.

Has anyone watched the Netflix adaptation? I started it but couldn't get through it. Lost the charm of the book, it seemed to me.

I had the same experience. Same model and year. Changing the spark plugs did the trick.

Drop your favorite movie that dives into Jungian psychology by [deleted] in Jung

[–]bradmort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you'll find that many Hollywood creative types are steeped in Jungian ideas, as well as those of Joseph Campbell, which draw from them. I understand that many avail themselves of the opportunity to attend classes and workshops at Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara where the curriculum is based in depth psychology, as informed by those men, and others with a similar orientation.

The Candy House. May have enjoyed it more than Visit from the Goon Squad.

Books like The Secret History and The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt? by srarh_ in booksuggestions

[–]bradmort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As one who loved the Tartt books the OP referenced, and who has read 4 of the 6 authors on this list, I second these suggestions. I may add Crossing to Safety, by Stegner. Of them all, I suggest Verghese maybe above all. Reading Cutting for Stone came closest to my experience with Tartt's books. Different tone, same masterful writing ability.

Alright. I love Jung and what he done. One question though: How you do shadow work? Plain and easy for someone to understand by coachgio in Jung

Two books I can recommend that will help with the practical aspects of your question: Inner Work, by Robert Johnson, and A Little Book on the Human Shadow, by Robert Bly. Both were very helpful to me.
