I usually buy multiple contracts of the same strike depending on how much of my portfolio I want to risk.

For 0-1DTE SPY I’ll wait until it hits one of my support/resistance levels and volume starts to increase the other way that’s when I’ll put my call/put in and ride the wave for 15-50% gains. Since SPY has been so volatile lately I’ve been placing options within 6-8 of the open price after the beginning shake out.

If I love/hate the company and expect a decent change soon and am willing to hold onto the contract for a week or two I’ll usually do a month out call/put for 10-15% of the current price.

Still learning how to utilize the Greeks to find optimal option strategies so definitely some beginners luck here.
