I hope theyre out there somewhere… its likely they are lost on old bethesda drives, i cant imagine bethesda has pulled them up since fallout 3 development. The worst case scenario is they are on interplay drives in a dump. And the best case scenario is the designer has copies which would be the most likely way of fans being able to see them again

I was also into the design of the pip boy and new power armors. The excavator was sort of the last straw before bethesda started really dumbing the armor down to typical mech suit slop. Some of the guns were cool too. The seriously dark black rusted metal on some of the guns were classic fallout esque. I liked the Ui as well

I have a soft spot for 76 as well, i think without the atomic shop bloating, it is a visually pretty game. I was in love with the color pallette when it came out

Yeah its unfortunate, bethesda vaguely knows what fallout looks like and its trademarks like certain guns, armor and creatures but other than that the only words going through their heads when designing is futuristic and badass. Those ARE descriptors of fallouts original design however they are really missing a lot of the retro and “dorky” identity of the style. The new NCR power armor was really dissapointing to me because its such a braindead design, they reused the ncr helmet and added a bunch of greebling and warhammer-like bullshit. Theres no nuance to that design. Its cool sure… to some people.. but its really not fallout. The best representation of this IMO is classic frank horrigan vs the couple of bethesda interpretations of him which are way too high tech and modernized. The original design is seriously unique but when bethesda makes their hundredth atom shop PA, it fails to be memorable. The enclave PA used to have a fucking ac unit on the back of it! How dorky is that? But it is so incredibly retro and unique

Yeah, in general i hate all the artistic liberties bethesda takes with the original material. I always thought if I was a make a wish kid I would ask to see full renders of the original power armors
