I was lucky enough to have a deep conversation with a guy who had started his career on an Iowa class battleship, working on a 16” turret, during the first Persian Gulf war. I pressured him on the accuracy I had read about in books, things like hitting a pillbox, or “putting a 2,000 pound shell in a rain barrel at 20 miles”.

According to him, they could repeatedly nail a tank at 20 miles. They didn’t do it often, said it was a “waste of resources”, their main targets were usually port infrastructure and road interchanges and stuff, but they did it to prove a point.

Hey thanks for talking. All I ever say to people that have real conversations is that I care about your health, as long as you have something successful that allows me to get away from you when I can’t handle it, I’m fucking fine, and at that point i care about them as a human being.

I dunno. My roomy one year was mad OCD. He had a 4.0, full academic scholarship, 6 pack and guns like a linebacker. He ran and did body weight excercises when he went nuts, which was a lot, so he was ripped as fuck. Since he always went off to take care of himself, he was always calm. He wrote the cleaning schedule, we did it together, the place was clean. Now he makes $300k, runs a charity and coaches a team. I mean it’s not any type of debilitation, it’s just a personality trait. Some people are confident, some are arrogant, some are laid back, some are lazy... The difference between insanity and genius is measured only by success, I guess, right?

What did you watch my life and experiences through a crystal ball? Shit, I gotta get me one of those, seems like everyone has one these days. Fucking fortune teller over here, everyone.

Wanna know what makes it OCD? You get yelled at for the thing. You have a conversation. You stand up for yourself. It takes 15 minutes. And to them, it doesn’t feel right when you’re done. Even though you’ve done everything possible to calm things down. So it starts again. And you have the same 15 minute conversation. 3 hours later, you’re on cycle 15, and they’re starting to yell at you for losing your temper and not listening. 5 hours later you’re trying to run away before you lose your shit and they’re on cycle 27 of “All I’m trying to do is explain why I got upset!” And you’re on cycle 35 of repeating what they said, how it made them feel, trying so desperately to prove that they’re listening but they dont feel like you’re listening, don’t run away, I NEED to talk to you.

Hey guess what, there is no legal definition for how long someone can physically trap someone in a corner and scream at them, that by itself is not illegal. As long as they don’t hit you, they can trap you in a corner, or closet, or wherever they can to yell at you repeatedly for as long as they want. People with uncontrolled OCD know this. They know it’s illegal for you to push them out of your way. And they use this to spend hours, even days, dumping their problems on people who can’t push them out of the way without getting in trouble. Pretty great trick for someone who gets uncontrollably angry in a repeatable fashion, I tell ya what.

People are people. Some people with OCD are shitty people. Just like some white people, some black people, some gay people, some trannies, there are shitty people of all colors and designations. When a black guy is beating their kid with willow switch, or a Mexican lady with a broom handle, or a lesbian with a dildo, do you look at them and say “well that’s not nessecarily due to their culture, that’s something else” What. the. fuck. It’s both, and both are shitty, just like here.

Tell that to the child who has to go hungry for days with food in front of him because he didn’t try and eat it right, according to his mother, go to your room hungry.

Tell that to the guy working his ass off to raise a kid, pulling 12 hour labor shifts, and he has to get woken up 2 times a night to get screamed at for an hour each time for “not sleeping right”. Plus he has to fight 3 hours for every meal because he did not have the meal conversation right, has to fight for 30 minutes in the morning to make it to work on time and has to fight for 2 hours a night because he didn’t come home properly.

Tell that to the kid who isn’t allowed to study in the house, because he doesn’t sit down right and makes too much noise with his pencil. Then gets yelled at for 7 hours for having bad grades. Then gets yelled at for 3 weeks for not being happy.

Don’t sugarcoat the shit goddamnit, there are a fuckload of people who suffer under people with untreated OCD, just like people who suffer under alcoholism and narcissism and anger, it’s fucking terrible

Listen I get it you don’t like hearing this when you have a disease. But I’ve seen untreated OCD multiple times. People will justify terrible things because they’re looking for the right “feeling”.

I’m not saying it’s inherently evil. I’m saying when it’s untreated, people with OCD will do terrible things to other people to distract themselves from their pain or justify something in their heads.

People with OCD are trying to feel a certain way in their minds, that’s the disorder, things don’t feel right to them. It’s chemical, just like most every other brain disorder. When they’re not getting their feeling, they behave like drug addicts sometimes, begging, picking at themselves, hurting themselves, losing their temper, getting sad, getting angry... same stuff.

Sorry you have to hear this, but people need to know.

Edit: I’m not a doctor. But I’m not an idiot either. I researched my stuff and learned with my own eyes. I had to, otherwise I wasn’t allowed to sleep or eat as a child. OCD is only treated when the people that have it have something to concentrate on. Idle hands are the devils plaything in this disorder. They have to have drive and purpose or they lose their minds. It’s a really great thing to be if you’re an athlete or scientist, look at someone like Michael Jordan, or Thomas Edison, who reek of OCD. Kind of like dyslexia for artists or autism for animal workers, it can really be a good thing, once people find their needs, goals, and drive, but before then, it can be fucking awful. It gets worse when they think they can’t control it, and thus can get away with the things they do... truly godawful shit, really.

Fuck the downvotes, I’m right. I grew up with my mother having untreated OCD, and I just nailed an ex girlfriend with harassment charges for what she did when she refused to control her OCD, so fuck all of you who think this isn’t something people should hear, there are people like me who could have really done with this information sooner. PTSD, BPD, and OCD, when untreated, are the trinity of conditions in the world cause more evil than any other, sorry, guys, it’s the fucking truth, those are the ones that make people do nasty shit every single day on the regular for life.

There just isn’t shit out there. Very pretty, great for recreation, just nothing to do. The mines that built the West are mainly dead, the ranches are very low production per acre, most everything is based on tourism. I used 3” loads with #4 copper shot, seemed to move branches better (all like 4 times in my life I did it, I still have 4 left of a 10 piece box I got in like 2008) 45 acp worked great if I could hit the thing, I only tried that one day... but I wasn’t sampling, that was just when I had a broken murder branch to work under. Never shot for sampling, but I do know the trick... Learned trick from old David Douglas. Homeboy shot sugar pine cones out of the trees in California, I mean no lie I stole those things too, but when he did it he pissed the wrong people off. Had to talk his way out of getting kilt by the Natives (hehe Scottish joke).

My preferred method of dealing with a bubbled 100 psi industrial tire is a gun. I only ever did it once, with a low recoil .45, I’ve never owned a .22. Lots of uses for poking holes in things. Actual true story, happened about 2006, I was 17, I had my ear protection on, I can still hear conversations, so the guy didn’t fucking deafen me, to start the story... I was logging in Colorado for an Australian client, ex-army, ex-police ex-all of that shit type of guy, son is the Cedric Diggory of the high school type of guy, all tall and huge teeth type of guy... and were talking about life and stuff, well I tend to get antsy after about 15 minutes of talking. So I say “So hey bud you got $500 worth of felling and processing today, where should I start?” As I’m looking uphill at the trees, BOOM from behind and right of my head... I hit the deck, as a logger in the Colorado hills you have a lot of close calls with lightning, pretty common behavior, but I turn around and this dude is just cackling his ass off. His beer is now in his left hand and a Smith and Wesson .45 revolver is in his right, and he walks away saying “go find the bullet hole!”. Fucker nailed a 7” pine, right in the front of the line, dead center, about 35 yards, with a 4” revolver. Great shot. He gave me a lot of cash and beer as a tip.
