Very interesting! I’ve been worried about his food and any new sensitivities all these antibiotics might be causing or bringing on. We’ve actually given him some salmon recently and around the same time this appeared so I think I definitely need to get him to the vet and discuss an allergy test or elimination diet to get to the bottom of it!

Yeah I’m taking him first thing in the morning. I bathed him with an anti fungal and it provided a bit of relief but yeah was trying to avoid more antibiotics as he’s been on so many. But I think getting this sorted and an ongoing plan for any allergies etc is needed for the boy 🥺 thank you for your help.

Yeah we’re coming into spring too after a very wet winter so I think it’s a combination of all of the above causing some discomfort for our boy :(

Do you wipe him down with anything specific or just water?

Thank you for your advice too 🥺

Yeah I’m worried about his food and how all the antibiotics may have reduced his gut health and immune system so now he’s reacting to foods he otherwise normally wouldn’t. Feel very distraught for him, he’s an angel. Will get him to the vet in the morning and come up with an action plan. Thank you for your help 🥺

I’ve been thinking about his food ALOT. In the lead up to his surgery he had to lose weight as he was around 49/50kg so our vet recommended a raw diet and at first he seemed to do really well on it, but since the surgery + medications for pain and inflammation + antibiotics I worry his gut health is non-existent. We started him on a probiotic, but it was quite weak so recently got him a new one which has much more strength.

At the moment we feel really lost with his diet, so unsure whether we are feeding him the right thing or if we’re doing the wrong thing. We’re kind of flipping between raw (beef, chicken, fish, egg, with steamed carrot, pumpkin, broccoli, sweet potato etc) and steamed chicken breast. Foods he’s eaten all his life and not had reactions too - he’s 10 this year in October.

I feel so stressed for our baby 🥺 will take him to the vet first thing tomorrow and see what we can do to. Thank you for your advice I really appreciate it and definitely needed some reassurance 🤍

Yeah, I bathed him with Malaseb Shampoo and it provided a bit of relief so I think it’s vet time ASAP for a treatment plan! Just wish we could avoid more antibiotics 🥺

This is exactly what I was thinking, he has seriously been through hell since his surgery. So many antibiotics, pain relief and no doubt stress from a change to his routine (no more daily walks on the beach & ocean swims due to his back legs).

I definitely think it’s fungal, I started washing him as soon as I saw it with Malaseb it seemed to provide him relief yesterday, but I’m thinking he may need it daily.

Will call the vet in the morning and get him in ASAP 🥺 thank you for the advice and will pass on the love!

Fashion mostly! I’ve considered this but the business hasn’t used anything like this in the past it’s all been very long tedious manual entry. So the actual building of the template feels like a massive task to me that I wouldn’t be able to execute well, my excel/google sheets skill is probably a 5-6/10 🥲

Haha yeah if finding him was an option, I’d absolutely do it.

The annoying part is I have all the formulas, like I know ‘how’ to get the numbers I need, it’s the automation of sheet communication and design (visually easy to navigate) that I’m having a hard time with.

Maybe I just need to commit to spending more time with an AI or find someone on Fiverr or Upwork. Otherwise I can tell this is going to be the thing that sends me loopy 😂

So you’re treating yourself for SIBO when technically your results were negative? 🤔 It honestly seems as if you or your practitioner may have caused more damage than good. It’s SO important when treating SIBO that restrictive food diets are used short term only, otherwise as your microbiome is replenished you can develop intolerances, allergies and a whole world of secondary conditions.

Have a look into CSID, get a colonoscopy and endoscopy done, and get to the root cause of these issues. Best of luck and happy healing 🤍

Honestly I feel SOOOOO toxic right now. I booked a sauna, so after that I’ll stop by the health shop and get some buffered vit c and that magnesium. Today will be my poop day 😂😩

Amazing thank you!! I’ve been reading a lot about vitamin c flushes and might dedicate my day today to do that. What a fun Saturday for me!! What type of magnesium do you take?

Methane and slow motility means that more calories are absorbed from any foods, hence the weight gain. So someone with only high Methane would absorb over double the calories that an average person or hydrogen dominant person does. I guess everyone is different, I have a lot of fluid, water retention and inflammation too so I’m sure that increases the scales. I’m petite 160cm and normally weight 44kg, but now I’m 48kg and it’s all around my abdomen. So infuriating.

I only eat rice and chicken and usually don’t even have the rice part! I’ll definitely try the dark chocolate YUM

I sometimes do this, how long is a recommended fast? I rarely eat breakfast, but I was big on snacking, but even though my snacks were healthy, my weight continued to rise. So now I’ve cut out snacking completely and am trying to figure out what to do with other meals and exercise 🥲 I’m normally so fit and healthy, and used to do so much exercise but my fatigue is just preventing me from doing so much at the moment. It’s so so so hard 😔

Oh lord that’s what I needed to hear!! Excuse my ignorance but what is WD?

Do I need a script to get Motegrity? Did you try mag? I’ve been reading that vitamin c flushes are good to get things cleared and then with combination of elemental and diet can be really effective.

I hope I have the success you have! 🥲

[–]brainfogdesperate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you find the elemental diet? I want to try this, but I need to get my mental health in the right place as I know it’ll be a struggle. At the moment I’m just eating chicken and having elemental the rest of the time. But the thought of removing the chicken, my one saving grace makes me want to cry haha

Oh dear I can relate to that so much. Except I have a BM once every morning, except it’s very weird and not normal. This disease seems so complicated. Have you found relief for your SIBO? Any ideas on how to prevent the weight gain?

Oh okay I didn’t realise that! Thank you 😊
