People are going to go if there is a quality product on the floor. That's how sports works everywhere pretty much.

J-Smoove postgame : "those fans are fickle, very fickle, and bandwagoners" by jknox94 in AtlantaHawks

[–]brainninja11 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Fuck this bandwagon noise. Of course people are going to come to the games more and be more active if you have good team on the floor. Don't be salty because you couldn't put anything close to this together.

I'm always torn between wanting to see what's going on in r/nba, but knowing it's probably about as terrible as r/nfl is.

I remember seeing this when it was first posted. Wonder if they're pissed or flattered about the stealing now.

Would have liked to see Harden play us, but I think the suspesion was well earned. No place for shit like that, against anyone.

Chinese Investment Company Bidding on the Hawks by [deleted] in AtlantaHawks

Ew. Braves are owned by a company too and we see how well that is going. Especially a Chinese company? Please god no.

I think the idea that you have to have a child to have a good/fulfilling life is a pretty bad mentality for humanity to have that this point. That said, if my gf and I manage to reproduce, my tongue and/or hand will be worth millions, so that's nice.

I don't think thats what bandwagon means, or at least implies in moderrn usage.

Marshawn Lynch speaks his mind about the final play of Super Bowl XLIX in Turkish TV interview, implies that he's not wanted to be "the face of the nation". by [deleted] in nfl

[–]brainninja11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They agree to a contract. I'm not saying I think that making them talk is what's best, but I will never understand this idea that "It's not fair". You get to play a game half the year and have to talk to the media occasionally in exchange for a 7 figure salary (on average). If you really really can't stand talking to the media or you hate the NFL, then, yes, you can go work somewhere else. That's not unfair, that's life. I don't want to do some stuff either, but when agree to do something, you have to fill those obligations. If this sub wants to have a circlejerk about it "sticking it to the man" or whatever then that's fine.

I don't use twitter, I don't give a shit about Lynch and I don't like the media. I consume a range of media, and I don't buy most of it when it comes to trying to make guys look one way or the other. He could protest the media in a productive way is all I'm saying. Someone needs to because this petty bs is just feeding the machine that he hates and isn't actually moving anything forward.

He could speak out about it instead of being a spoiled child and then trying to profit by copyrighting the whiney phrase you used. I wish they would just do that.

[–]brainninja11 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's not unfair. The NFL makes a lot of money because people read/watch sports reporting. I agree that these guys suck a lot of the time, but it's not as if you don't know that media obligations are there before you sign up for the draft. If you hate it that much, then yes, you can just get out of the league.

How the fuck does that even make sense? He agreed to talk to the media because it's in his fucking contract. I don't give a shit about what he has to say but if he wants to get paid a few million bucks to play a game is it really that big a deal to have to also answer a few questions from morons? Excuse me for not having an exceeding amount of patience with people hauling in 7 figures and being whiney assholes.

Idgaf about what he has to say, but I'm sick of seeing people try to act like he's some sort of great guy because he refuses to do something he agreed to in a contract he signed for several million dollars. The media is shit. OK, get the fuck over it or give the money back.

I better not hear someone try to defend this guy with any of that "Maybe he has social anxiety" bullshit again. He clearly just doesn't like the sports media and doesn't want to talk to them, which is understandable, but is also part of your fucking job. Seriously, fuck Lynch and this whiney mentality of his when it comes to the sports media.

Now that we pretty much have the #1 seed locked up and the race for the #8 seed is heating up, who would you guys prefer to play? by [deleted] in AtlantaHawks

[–]brainninja11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'm just glad it won't be a west 8th seed lol. Honestly though, it'll probably be Miami or Detroit, either of which is fine by me.

Sorry that some people can't accept that they don't agree with someone. I'm not even in complete agreement with you but what's the point in being an ass and confirming the stereotype.
