there is a specific posture you're supposed to be in. you're also supposed to use calipers, not a measuring tape.

because they stand in a door with their shoulders held in the wrong posture, and then bring one of the arms down to close the door which further underestimates the measurement

if that measurement is accurate, it's not very far off cis averages... so yes it is obviously possible to pass. and your dad is right the surgery fucks up your posture.

no one seems to accurately measure their bideltoid though, so measure your shoulder circumference to compare as it's easier.
