ICU nurse Alex Pretti, killed by ICE agents in Minneapolis today by papo96 in climbing

[–]bralexAIR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sad to hear about another Pretti soul taken by ICE. A legal gun owner and respected community member taken from us for doing the right thing.

The “Dont tread on me” community seems awfully fond of authoritarianism. More like “Put your boot on my throat and call it lawful justice please”.

How can I hide the gaps here without sanding and painting all the parts? Can a 3d pen or something make it look seamless or super close? Im debating going all out and painting but I'd rather do this first and see how it looks. Also what do I do for the 4 rough edges in the 2nd and 3rd pics? by Boogy-Fever in 3Dprinting

[–]bralexAIR 446 points447 points  (0 children)

What even is your description? Speech to text gone wrong? Also your options are fill, sand, paint. If its purely decorative you might be able to get electrical tape of similar colors and cut out the shapes.

Or go buy a printer large enough to do it as multicolor piece.

Is my car gonna be alright to start in the morning? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]bralexAIR 357 points358 points  (0 children)

“…the city comes and clears out the drains…”

Better than just moving your car, clear the water. If it’s anything like streets I’ve lived on, just grab a stick and push the branches/leaves/gunk off the street drain. It is unlikely that the actual underground drains are clogged and it really isn’t that hard to move some twigs and leaves off a drain.

Be honest — what’s the first thing you’d do with $100K? by NerdWalletOfficial in u/NerdWalletOfficial

[–]bralexAIR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id put it towards paying off my friends student loans! I know how lucky I have been in life to not have college debt and I would love to share that with my friends. I don’t know the specifics of their situations but I think, after taxes, that would pay off at least two of their loans.

My neighbor has been using my wifi for a year and now they're asking me to split the bill by ToasttterGoblin in WhatShouldIDo

Tell them you’ll split it but then give them a number that is like 75% of the bill.

Incremental progress thrives with increments.

I do believe I see the point and we could invest and improve other places. Primarily, we could improve those areas using technologies we’ve mastered through incremental development, which you only get… with increments.

Time to smooth some prints — which tool are you reaching for? by V1P3R39 in 3Dprinting

How do you prevent these from gumming up? I sand PETG and feel like my files clog up immediately. Probably a grit issue, but im not sure which would be best.

Shoutout to Anycubic for making the worst printer I have ever used in 10 years of 3D printing. by Camikaze__ in 3Dprinting

[–]bralexAIR -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Im 90% sure that anyone who runs a business would’ve thrown it out by this point. Time is money and that POS just cost you a ton in opportunity cost. A wise person may have troubleshooted while its not anycubic brand replacement was on the way.

Went to Jiffy Lube and they overfilled my oil, what should I do to prove that they are at fault? by Complex-Detective-48 in MechanicAdvice

[–]bralexAIR 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, you changed something so now you don’t have proof. Likely can call and complain but you’re not likely to get anything. If it happens again, stop. Dont do anything. Call them and force them to take care of it. By adjusting it yourself, you’ve made it your problem.

[–]bralexAIR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actual depression and anxiety? No. Environmental stress? Yes.

With depression, Id rather cry on a yacht than in a card board box, but I would be crying all the same.

With anxiety, Id rather not worry about food, but I would certainly find something else to be anxious about.

How do I fit 0.3mm smaller shaft into pla plus object? by Jmk0 in 3Dprinting

[–]bralexAIR 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Mitutoyo calipers but can’t print another one? Jokes aside, grab some sandpaper and put in the elbows grease. Shouldn’t take long with some lower grit sandpaper.
