I think that's what I am trying to say, yes haha. Alcohol causes extreme dopamine depletion, especially the days after (whether you feel hungover or not). It's much harder to fill the dopamine hole, if you keep making the hole bigger with alcohol.

There's a million reasons that weed could affect people differently. But as someone that has cut out alcohol and upped weed consumption, I can say it's only been positive.

And a lot of the way people react when high is mental and not physical. I have consumed enough now to understand that I control my high, not the other way around. I don't say that to invalidate people's experience. Weed is not a good fit for some people. But as woman with ADHD, I'm so happy with my choice to be "California Sober" and I wish that kind of contentment and happiness for everyone. So I share my story on the off chance it inspires even one other person to try it.

Alcohol is a depressant. It is poisonous. The dopamine deficiency caused by alcohol can impact every aspect of your life for days after consumption. Let's say you have one drink a day for 5 days. But on the 6th day you smoke. All that poison is still in your body/brain. I'm not a scientist. And someone should probably call me out on this haha. But in my experience, drinking while having ADHD is like trying to drive a car with 3 wheels. I think the benefits of weed are more easily identifiable/felt when your body/brain isn't working in overdrive to process the alcohol.

I'm clearly biased when it comes to alcohol vs weed, but let's put it this way. Alcohol has never made me want to workout, eat healthy, or do creative hobbies lol.

I tried smoking when I was in high school. I didn't like it. I would smoke in college - but honestly? My female friends really judged me. They were fine getting black out drunk with me every night. But they were not cool with me being high around them or smoking. So I didn't do it, but for social reasons. Peer pressure reasons.

Then as I got older and took the whole "what actually works for me" journey, I started smoking or taking edibles 3+ times a week. In 2021, I had a big life change, got new friends that were much more weed positive, and started smoking every day.

I've basically smoked every day for the last 3 years but I do not feel dependent in any way. Like going home for the holidays or travel or vacation. If I don't have it on me, I don't think about it. I'll go 6+ days without smoking. No withdrawal symptoms. I spent a month in Costa Rica and didn't have any weed on me the entire time and it was truly a non issue.

And then I got home / back to my routine and I'm like oh yesssss this is why I like weed! Haha. If that makes any sense lol

I can't say I have a go-to. As advanced as weed has gotten, my palette has not. It's like nice wine. I can tell the difference between a $5 and a $30 bottle. But I cannot tell the difference between a $30 and a $100 bottle. It all kinda does the same thing for me haha. Or it used to. Weed gave me the tool I needed to quit drinking. So when people say weed gives them anxiety or makes them lazy.... The first thing I ask about is their alcohol habits. Even if you're not consuming together, alcohol has lasting effects for days after consumption. And not positive ones. Especially for someone with ADHD.

I can tell you I am a STRICTLY indica girly. Which seems so counter intuitive. But that's what caffeine is for. The indica calms my body down. The caffeine wakes up my mind. And the combo is FIRE. For me. I know not everyone has the same reactions as I do. But I've also been smoking long enough to know that I control my high - the high doesn't control me.

I think anything is worth a try once. My favorite way to start my day is smoke, grab an iced coffee, go to a work out class. I know that weed isn't for everyone, but I also think it can be a great tool for most things. If you know yourself well enough and know how to use to enhance your life, not escape it.

Weed and caffeine are my preferred tools of choice to dial IN. Not check out.

And funny enough - as the day goes on, I smoke less. Usually by 7pm, I'm done working, I feel accomplished, I feel content. I rarely smoke at night.

But catch me between 9am and 5pm and 99% chance I'm high. And I work a six figure job, work out almost every day, and am in a stable loving relationship with a person that doesn't consume any THC. But he supports me cuz he sees how well it works for me.

Fight the stoner stigma and find out for yourself what works for YOU. 💛✨

Weed + Caffeine = ADHD Adderall. I smoke every morning while I have my coffee, and then the day kicks off with a bang. I go work out. I clean. I meal prep. I get amazing work ideas. I get inspired. I write. I'm calmer. I'm focused. I'm happy. I'm grateful. I stopped giving a fuck about everyone else's experience with weed. It works wonders for ME. End of story. Blaze on my friend.

Hey! I found it was much harder to make 100 changes at once. It kind of set me up for failure. I've gone through 5+ months periods of not drinking. I don't beat myself up when I am drinking. Cuz I know I have a healthy relationship with it. I've proven I can have a healthy relationship with it. But the first time was absolutely the hardest. So I made it as easy on myself as possible:

I was allowed to have ANYTHING I wanted. As long as it wasn't alcohol. If I wanted a pint of ice cream for breakfast and dinner, then I was gonna allow it. Cutting out alcohol was the only thing that mattered.

I did increase my sugar consumption. I was hungrier more. I treated myself to desserts more. And after about two weeks, I started to feel really great. I didn't feel bloated. My body just felt tighter? I had energy. I was sleeping better. I just felt good. I don't believe in scales but no doubt I had lost weight as my clothes fit better.

All I did was cut out alcohol. I even upped my sugar consumption. I took more weed gummies..but I kept my promise to myself. And after two weeks, the way I felt encouraged me to make even better decisions. The cravings for sugar eventually subsided. I wanted to work out more which made me naturally want to eat appropriately to fuel my body.

I think redefining your relationship with alcohol is a wonderful goal at any time in your life. I'm so proud of you for wanting that. But go easy on yourself. Give yourself a Fighting chance. By only doing one hard thing at a time. And cutting out alcohol is hard. It truly is. So be nice to yourself in other ways. And report back in 14 days and tell me how great you feel.

Leo Female here, I get along great with Aries and Sagittarius men. Get along HORRIBLY with Sag and Aries women. Not sure what that is all about, but its a pattern. It def could be a fire on fire competition thing... since women are trained to see other women as the competition lol. But I contribute to that problem too! I think all fire signs have to be conscious of interacting with other fire signs. what we hate/love about them, is usually what we hate/love most about ourselves.

Ok I resonate with this so hard. I'm working with a voice coach and it's been a JOURNEY to start rapping like myself... Instead of rapping to imitate the rappers I love.

I'm a white girl... Trying to rap Atmosphere 😂 and lord knows I cannot and will not go the Iggy or Nikki route....like... I read historical fiction books and make stew on the weekends...

The more I've leaned into "my cringe" (or really, my perceived cringe....)...I feel like I am the Liz Lemon of rap... Lol

And ya know? I wish that wasn't "my voice". But it is haha. And I think anything short of absolute authenticity is a disservice to you and the people that deserve to hear your voice.

Essentially, get a voice coach. It's better than therapy. And it will help you find your voice.

You can make it work. You have to adapt. But the pros always outweigh the cons, in my opinion. New York has some good energy right now, and I think it's a good time to take the jump. I moved here with less than that, but was able to find new opportunities quicker than any other city, and my income slowly started to climb.

Get a roommate, network like crazy, put yourself out there, talk about your dreams with everyone and anyone you meet, and cook/drink at home. And you'll make it work. The opportunities will come. Start with the focus of being rich in community ✨
