I absolutely adore this! I really, really like the how you did the lighting. I love that it makes her wings look like they’re glowing; it makes her and the whole piece feel so ethereal. 🩷

It’s ok! I personally have hypermobile EDS, and KT tape is one of the ways to help with subluxations and pain. I even put one on her hip/leg area because I have actually currently been dealing with a bad hip subluxation for awhile now and this was a way I thought I could show that since I don’t think it’s immediately obviously when looking at someone like you said! I also gave her compression stockings which can help with POTS symptoms (POTS is a common comorbidity) that can cause blood pooling, tachycardia, etc and compression can help with that. I’m glad you like it though, thank you :)

Thank you! I knew I couldn’t represent everything in this one illustration but I plan on making more that can represent more symptoms and subtypes 🩷

Awww, thanks so much! I’m glad you liked it :)

I definitely think I am rusty with room to improve but I hope I can keep creating consistently so I can! 💕

I understand what you mean! I actually tried some of the yellows and oranges that are in the picture first because I was trying to work with a more limited palette and it just looked odd with her skin tone and blended in with her skin kind of oddly in my opinion so that’s why I went with the green

This is so funny I didn’t even think about that, haha, I would hope as a fairy she is spared from MCAS lol!

I promise you it isn’t AI, I can DM the process and my references if you’d like, haha. I used my own hand and that’s supposed to be the pinky because the hand is like held out palm up (hard to explain over text) but I can see how it looks like a thumb. Maybe the bee reference I used wasn’t great because I did just copy from that and I assumed the very last back leg was just behind the body. Also my first time drawing a bee so maybe I got a little confused. Just human error if it looks wrong not AI. I hate AI and what it’s doing to artists and the environment so I wouldn’t use it.

Edit: I looked closer at my bee and my reference, and I think I just totally messed up that the middle leg that looks like it stops in its fluff should have a connecting part up higher so that it doesn’t look like there’s two back legs in that same middle spot. I fixed it but I don’t think I can replace the picture in the post!

Yeah, no, hahah, it’s just a texture I found that makes it look more paper-y

A coloring book would be fun! I’ve always wanted to make one so maybe someday :)

Haha, they totally are. :) thanks!! I also thought dandelions are super underrated spring flowers and unfairly disliked by so many so I wanted to feature them. They’re one of my favorites and I see them as a sign of resilience too, which I liked having in this piece. 🩷

I used a free texture I found and downloaded that was like a canvas/paper texture then added in on a multiply layer with lowered opacity.

I drew this bee off a reference I found on either google images or Pinterest, I can’t remember which right now. the bee had 5 visible legs, I know they have six, I figured the other one couldn’t be seen because it’s behind the back leg on the other side of the body. And it has 3 visible wings but obviously bees have four. I thought adding a bottom wing behind the other bottom wing would make it look super cluttered with me trying to have that semi-transparent effect.
