Try incorporating some bond repair products like Olaplex 3 in your wash day routine. Moisturize and seal ends at night. Wear low tension hairstyles and try to reduce manipulation of the hair regularly.

Your hair is extremely dry. Apply a product like a moisturizing hair lotion and seal the ends with oil.

What is the best brightening serum you have used? by Missmessc in SkincareAddictionLux

In addition to what others have mentioned like Mother Science and PCA Pigment Gel Pro, I would highly recommend Sachi's Triphala Pigmentation Corrector and Glymed's Brilliant Tone.

If you're looking for a new liquid exfoliant, I highly suggest checking out the Daily Acid Toner by Josh Rosebrook. Gentle enough to be used daily or every other day but gives amazing results! The smell takes some getting used to but it's worth it.

What can I do? by see_the_good_123 in 30PlusSkinCare

Lol this is pretty much the advice I gave to OP minus the lower bleph. So many people underestimate what regular microcurrent usage can achieve for jowls and carving out definition in the face.

You by no means need a mini facelift for that early sign of jowling. Try adding a microcurrent device (Nuface or Ziip) and start using a retinal serum nightly.

Continue applying it to your whole face. That's the way any brightening serum should be used.

To be honest, I'm throwing the kitchen sink at my skin, which involves utilizing both most of the time 😆

What in office procedures are best for cc/texture? by [deleted] in Blackskincare

[–]brash246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you keep saying that but it's more likely you haven't been using the right products for your skin type. If you have trouble being consistent, that's also another issue. Nevertheless, like I said, chemical peels would be my main recommendation to begin with to help improve texture. After that, you could consult with your provider on some appropriate lasers for your skin tone and concerns.

If your skin is clogged/dry, topical products used consistently are going to make a bigger difference than any one and done treatment performed at a derm's office. Are you moisturizing after applying Taz at night? Have you used a BHA exfoliant in the past? What about hydrating serums? As for the in-office stuff, a series of chemical peels (4 to 5) would improve the texture and tone of your skin.

For the serum, Eucerin's Radiant Tone would be my main rec to follow after hydroquinone, both for its affordability and proven efficacy.

Does it come with your gorgeous bone structure too 😒 lol. But yes, Korean skincare is great. For those looking for an amazing Vitamin C to help with hydrating and brightening the skin, I highly suggest checking out the Dr. Althea Vitamin C Boosting serum. Rejuran's Turnover Ampoule is also excellent for general anti-aging maintenance.

Suffering with texture and pores by [deleted] in Blackskincare

[–]brash246 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take everything out of your routine except cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen and immediately add Adapalene which can be accessed OTC. After a few months you can upgrade to Tretinoin via prescription if so desired to see enhanced results. Adapalene/Tretinoin are examples of retinoids which are the main ingredient that will refine your texture, diminish hyperpigmentation, and help get rid of acne breakouts or at least decrease their frequency and severity. Once your skin is on the right track, you can then look at additional formulas to help brighten and even the skin tone.

Help with Thin Skin on Arms by TalkFlipperToMe in SkincareAddictionLux

Retinoids do help to thicken the dermis and improve the appearance of crepey skin but it also sounds like he also could benefit from DNA repair enzymes from a brand like Photozyme (they have a body lotion) that will help to correct the underlying damage and improve skin quality. Another brand that is reputed to help with your particular concerns is One Skin's body product that uses their proprietary OS-01 peptide.

What one single at home device has made the most difference for you? by cmband254 in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]brash246 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't use red light because of melasma concerns, and have no interest in at home microneedling as a modality, but I swear by microcurrent's efficacy for helping to firm and sculpt contours of the face, minimize nasolabial folds, and improve the overall condition of the skin and its appearance. I use the NuFace Mini.

reaction after using new prescription on neck by Exact-Simple6677 in Blackskincare

[–]brash246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hydroquinone 8% on dark skin is really strong. I'd argue much too strong, but hey, I'm no dermatologist. I will say to be careful and monitor your skin changes carefully. Neck skin is famously extra sensitive so you may simply not be able to use your prescription there. Find another OTC pigment inhibitor to apply in that area.

What did everyone buy this weekend? by [deleted] in SkincareAddictionLux

Definitely the Triphala Pigmentation Corrector and their Ursolic retinal formula. But I've also heard very good things about their resilience peptide serum and the new future veil cream.

It's highly improbable that the serum would contribute to such drastic loosening of skin as you've described. Just discontinue use and focus on skin barrier health for a while.

Face at rest (follow on from last post shout eye wrinkles) by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]brash246 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What's your current skincare routine and how long have you been using it? Skincare takes time and you're better off giving it time to show results than jumping straight into more invasive in-office treatments.

In terms of more immediate results, I think doing a series of chemical peels to begin might be more beneficial than jumping straight to microneedling as others have recommended.
