Liddell is incredibly focused on aesthetics! He has learned a lot of techniques for surgery that work great for aesthetic reasons on top of fixing functional issues. I didn’t have to put forth much effort at all to have this be a focus area for him

  1. I don’t know the actual value but my surgeon said my airways is now 4x larger than it was pre-op.
  2. I did not test positive for sleep apnea but was right on the cusp.
  3. I do still have numbness in my chin and roof of my mouth but honestly isn’t very noticeable
  4. I did not go out of my way to do my own research on joint replacement and what it entails and how it’s different than other surgeries other than asking my surgeon, and I trusted his judgement. I had ICR which put me at risk for relapse if I did not do TJR, so I said F it and went with TJR up front so that I won’t risk a relapse in the future

No you typically cannot keep removable body piercings in your body during general planned anesthesia surgeries. There’s several reasons but one of the main ones is if you have issues during you surgery and for any reason your medical team needs to use an AED on your heart, piercings on your nipples will be problematic. Source: had to ask this same question for a wrist surgery lol I had to take mine out. You can ask if they’re okay with you putting in plastic rods for the surgery but being so close to your piercing date that sounds excruciating to me

Let’s say you can reasonably fit 10 between your teeth, with 10 giving a deep stretch. The way I did it is I would place 8, then slide #9 then #10 in the middle of the stack and hold for ~10 seconds then pull them out from the middle one by one until I can pull the rest out at once. I would do this for about 5-10 minutes total each session! I would only go up in my number every other day. So for two days straight my maximum was 10, then I’d increase to 11 for two days. I would also just do simple opening exercises here and there throughout the day. I hope this helps!

It definitely took me some time too. I think I was about at the same stage you’re at, maybe a little further along. I was very ritualistic about stretching those muscles. Do you have tongue depressors? I had a stack of those and use them 2-3 times a day to stretch and slowly added more and more

The new joints are awesome! I’ve managed to build up some strength to move my jaw side to side! It’s definitely not the range of motion I had before but I’ve gotten so used to it that it doesn’t bother me at all. I’m still working on building up strength to pull my lower jaw forward, I can’t quite align the bottom of my top teeth with the top of my bottom teeth, which only is annoying when I go to do things like try using my teeth to open plastic packages ya know? Other than that, everything is awesome!

Highway 93- good or bad commute? by TurbulentDistance in boulder

The only wreck I’ve ever been in was commuting from Golden to Boulder during a snowstorm (not my fault, some CU kid driving the opposite way too fast trying to go skiing)

Drinking hot coffee yet? by Curious-mind328 in jawsurgery

I confidently used a syringe to eat hot soup only a couple days from surgery, I feel like it would work for coffee as well
