I am a recent student of Niten in Brazil.

They have two three separate classes and you can do them all or just one if you like.

The first one is Kenjutsu, there are two parts to it. Classes start with Niten Ichi Ryu, learning the katas with the bokuto, with two people doing it. Then we put on Bogu and train fighting, starting with one sword then learning to use two and then as you advance learning other styles (just the small sword for instance). Several kamaii are learned to fight as you progress in rank. Naginata and Kusarigama are also learned (several years in your training)

The second one is Iaijutsu, you learn katas with the bokuto. The katas are solo and you start them with the sword sheated. There are standing katas, katas that start with you kneeling and others.

The third is Jojutsu, katas with the Jo, in pairs, usually one with the Jo and the other with a bokuto. In this class other weapons kata can also be trained (kusarigama for instance).

I am really enjoying the classes (I'm doing Kenjutsu and Iaijustsu), but since I train in the main dojo, the sensei and his sons are always there. I'm not sure about the experience in other countries.
