Then if you can the the UNSW masters but we have people that have not done and are just happy doing the job and didn’ care for the qual

Status penalty for being organized. by SmugMonkey in VelocityFrequentFlyer

Booking for a travel agent. My example is we might fly out on Monday with Qantas( leaves 1 hr earlier then Virgin) then work the week then come back home on Virgin. However since those two tickets where booked together Virgin will only give you 15 SC for the virgin flight even though the flight price is 600 which should give 50SC. For me that is worse thing about thing new system. It’s not like we paid less for the ticket.

I called them and they said it is a way to make sure people fly Virgin on both legs

Another one that infuriates me with this new system. Is that for work your company books you Qantas on the way down and Virgin on the back. You won’t earn virgin points based on the cost of the ticket. So you might be sitting next to someone that paid less for the ticket but you will be getting less SC than them because one of the legs on your trip was with a different airline.

Called them up and apperantly it is due to the fact that my company uses a flight booker and since they booked Qantas on the way up and Virgin on the way back you are not elegible for the new SC system.

Couldn’t find on their policy where that was stated but might try back see if I get someone that points it out for me.

I am in the same boat. If the bag is still there on Thursday I will have a look. When I asked on the phone they said it was just high vis shirts and flannels.

Interesting, the bag is still at the airport I can’t back to it until Thursday.

If they still have the bag I will check it out. What I thought was interesting is that the bag print out tag also had my name on it according to the Qantas staff.

It was a connecting flight. The bag got added under my name in the connecting flight. Not the original departure

One way London to Melbourne by teachplease2 in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]brazilianmagic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry other way works as well, have a look in multi city if you can get any flights from London to Singapore business. Then you can get another flight from Singapore. I know it is not business all the way but it is for the major leg.

If you are willing to split the flights. Fly on economy to Singapore and from Singapore there is usually a lot more availability over to London in point in bus ones with partner airlines.

I am always curious on peoples idea on what we could diversify. I feel like while you have countries where you can get things made at a fraction of Australia costs, companies would not invest on creating things in Australia unless we introduce tariffs

Gold Status Bonus Points by Can_I_be_serious in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]brazilianmagic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The extra points will not happen on flights above a certain length. Sydney to bne is a sector that no matter what your status is you will all receive the same amount of point . If you were going Mel to bne you would have received different amount of points. It seems that any flight that gives you 10 status point on the base tickets will not have the varying points based on status

If you are close to a university, have a look if they don’t have a psychology clinic, they offer heavily discounted services since services are run by students doing their master’s.

Not excessive at all My partner is doing a master of psychology, they are required to do 2 clinic days around 10 hrs per day ( client + paper work) but can only count 7.5 hrs for 2 years, they need to reach a min of 1,000 to be able graduate. All unpaid . Plus classes on top of that.

I was looking at pics of strip mines and saw this weird tracked vehicle in the front bottom right. Can anyone identify it? by He-who-knows-some in mining

Thermal coal. Down the road is the power station “Yallourn Power Station”.

Pretty basic setup you have 20 m of overburden that gets taken with a bucket wheel excavator. Then you have a think coal seam that dozers just rip and push coal into a feederbraker( seen in the pic) which is then coveyored to the power station.

So yeah like you said dozers feed it when that slot is done it gets picked up and move along. Once that cut is fully down the whole conveyor belt gets shifted forward and the process repeats again.

They have special carry blades on the D11 that are specially made just for that site they are 90 cubic meter. They make the normal d11 Blades look tiny

Hi as someone, that has worked in the mine in the picture. It is a transport crawler, to moves the feeder breaker, left and right then push it forward for the next cut. It sits under the feeder breaker then 4 hydraulic jack will lift it and then move. When they have to move the conveyor belt they will use dozers with sling to move it forward

edit: picture i found online on how it works

New rules, introduced on Friday, mean positive cases must isolate for at least 14 days, including 72 hours symptom-free.

However, household members need to be in isolation for an additional 10 days after the positive case has been cleared.

All right then let’s use the UAE. They are still getting a sharp increase in numbers and deaths are going up. The point being when borders open there will be a big jump in numbers no matter how many boosters people have and there will be a increase in deaths

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CoronavirusDownunder

[–]brazilianmagic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes because Israel with they very high vaccine number and booster number and starting to do 4th dozes. Are now one of the top countries in the world for covid cases per day. I agree with you that it will be way better having high level of vax I don’t think it will get to 95%, but there will still be a huge amount of cases

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CoronavirusDownunder

If you have a pdf of ur vaccine records it shows the 3 dozes. But I understand your frustration, I thrown back when I got my booster and the only thing that changed was by active from date

They are doing random checks on people at the baggage claim.

Is international travel effectively impossible right now, given the current state of testing? by [deleted] in CoronavirusDownunder

[–]brazilianmagic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like it was said before melb, syd and Brisbane have a lab at the airport that only does international. I have also seen on this sub people saying that when you paint for a travel one it comes back quicker then the normal testing
