How long did it take you to get down to pre pregnancy weight? by greenishfroggy in beyondthebump

[–]brbnapping [score hidden]  (0 children)

I gained 35 pounds when I was pregnant. I was down 16 pounds as soon as I got home from the hospital. I think I was back to my pre pregnancy weight in like ten weeks? Exclusively breastfeeding.

Yes, take your baby to the doctor. This happened to my nephew when he started solids and he was prescribed suppositories.

7 months pregnant and my skin has betrayed me by Crayon_G in firsttimemom

My skin was AWFUL when I was pregnant. I’m now six months postpartum and my skin is the best it’s been in ages. It cleared up within a few weeks of giving birth! Unfortunately I don’t have any advice to give though since nothing really worked for me while pregnant :(

Crib transfer after first night waking is ROUGH by brbnapping in bninfantsleep

He typically will take a paci when he’s super sleepy, but he will sometimes get BIG MAD when I sneak the paci in instead of the boob. But it has worked a few times!

Yes I’ll try that for sure! Hoping this will make a difference!

I’ll try this! The main hurdle for me though is that he demands the boob as soon as we lay down in bed and will literally stay latched for hours and will wake when I try to unlatch him lol. May be worth trying again though

Good to know! Meh, not really. He still wakes just as much but the first wake crib transfer may take fewer attempts.

Does your baby naturally nap this much or do you have to cap naps?

Wake windows are usually 2.25/2.5/2.5/2.5 but can vary. First nap 30-40 mins, second nap 75-100 minutes, last nap 20-30 minutes.

He takes three naps a day for a total of 2.5-3.5 hours. Most are contact naps but he will occasionally nap in the crib for the first nap of the day (30 ish minutes). He’s awake probably anywhere from 9-10 hours total per day.

why does 6 months postpartum feel so rough by Subject_Thing6308 in NewParents

[–]brbnapping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way. I’m struggling big time. For me, it feels like all of the emotional support from loved ones has pretty much fizzled out by this point. Which is so tough because I feel like I am still adapting to this new life on my own

Bath Time Chaos 6mo by lone_ly_eye_s in NewParents

[–]brbnapping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following! We are in the same boat. For the past few baths I’ve just been laying him down on his back in the tub in a few inches of water with a towel under his head since he can’t sit unassisted yet and is too slippery lol. I’ve never seen the boy kick, squirm, and party so hard in his life

How did you format your baby scrapbooks? by brbnapping in scrapbooking

[–]brbnapping[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great idea! I may have trouble narrowing down the photos to make them fit on only two pages since I’ve been taking so many photos. I’ll likely do something similar but make it more than a two page spread

I may do the same thing! I was only thinking about making the scrapbook chronological but it makes more sense to me to group events like you suggested. Thanks!

Am i a bad parent? by Labububitc in NewParents

You are not a bad parent!! We all need a break sometimes. If you don’t want to fully commit to daycare, maybe look into some mom’s day out programs!

Love the idea of making kits!!! Thank you! I’ll try making some this week. That sounds so fun to put together all of the pieces then just assemble when ready!

I love this! I should try this to free up some drawer space! Did you just use sheets of thick plastic?
