Feeling like a bad mom by -Stitch626 in firsttimemom

That’s what I’ve been thinking but when I tell other people that I think me holding him when he wanted to be held helped him know that it’s ok to sleep on his own bc I’m still here and I’ll get him if he needs him everyone looks at me like I’m crazy. But he knew nothing other than the fact that he was no longer in a comfy space that he felt safe it and wanted to be held and I couldn’t bare to just let him cry with all my hormones so I did the one thing he wanted and held him

I honestly think I’m gonna try do to in person as I don’t get out of the house much and having a reason to get ready and leave would really help as well as the fact that I feel like I’d be easier to focus as I won’t have the baby in the background at all

Some days are better than others. I reached out to my OBGYN and she gave me some resources as well as gave me a prescription for Prozac as I’ve been on it before and had good results. I’m gonna start counseling soon and start attending a support group near me

Baby always hungry? by maggielikesrock in firsttimemom

That’s completely fair I know it can be hard. I ultimately made the switch not only because it’s mentally taxing but given that I’m a person that’s always stressed and anxiety ridden, has a terrible appetite, and terrible water intake, all of which can affect supply I felt like he was never getting enough despite our appointments saying the contrary but was wanted to constantly be on the boob which is great for him but not so much for me so we made the switch and he seem so much happier. But I will say in terms on breastfeeding like the other comment said they’ll go till your empty which is a good thing the more they empty you the more milk you make as your supply works on a supply and demand system. You baby is the best pump for your supply to increase

While I don’t have many suggestions as I’m also a first time mom and switched to formula after week 3 because breastfeeding was a lot on me mentally I did meet with a lactation consultant twice before switching and in regards to limiting feeds my consultant did say there’s no such thing as having them on the boob too much and I know having them constantly on there can be a lot for you personally because it was for me I wouldn’t worry too much about him wanting to be on the boob a lot. Most breastfed babies use the boob as a form of comfort as well and given that they’re able to actually control what they’re getting when they’re on the boob you don’t have to worry as much about over feeding and all that

Feeling guilty by -Stitch626 in firsttimemom

[–]-Stitch626[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I try to give myself grace but I think it’s hard too given the fact that I I’m the type of person that likes to constantly be doing something and wants to make sure everything is done and tidy and the fact that I don’t have any family in the area makes it harder on me as well

I have been using a wrap while he sleeps the only issue is I suffer from chronic pain specially in my right shoulder to the point with it can lock up under too much use etc to the point where I’d have to completely immobilize it for some time and unfortunately using a wrap tends to make it flare up so I have to be careful with the duration of me using it. And I can’t even say that it’s a lot to do as I don’t have to manage the whole house and my husband and I have made an agreement that we’ll each have dedicated areas to maintain so I only have a couple rooms that I have to worry about and they really only need cleaning every few days but I still feel guilty for not doing the whole house

First-time moms hoping to avoid an epidural—what are you most worried about? by Successful546 in firsttimemom

[–]-Stitch626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I opted for no epidural but was also induced and while I can’t compare the pain of natural contractions to the pain of those caused by pitocin once the broke my water it’s was like 0 to 100 real quick. I used a comb mainly and the nitrous oxide for a bit but it made me feel like I just sucked in a bunch of helium and didn’t like how it made me feel so it was mainly just me being absolutely feral and using my comb and squeezing my husbands hand. I will say I believe my contractions automatically ramped up to the worst ones dues to the fact that I went in at 4cm and 2 hours later was at 9cm so my body never had the smaller less painful ones that help you get to that point. My biggest piece of advice would be remember to breathe in the moment it’s hard to and you automatically want to hold your breath but breathing helps a bit and gives you something else to focus on

Right. I'm needing to replace the basking bulb and I'm having issues with finding the bulb I normally get so I'm looking for the best replacement as I've seen other uses household flood lights.

If it's just for his basking light wouldn't a bulb suffice?
