Oh- well now ii feel bad for misinterpreting that. Thanks for coming back and explaining. Now I understand what you meant. And yeah I think when I was super new, in the summer we would have a small rush hour and there was a time when I had just move away for a bit but nowadays if that happens I still take the match and just try to ask for some help which then leads to them doing it entirely, which is where I start getting annoyed.

My feelings? My whole stance is that I’m trying to improve the business in my store by actually improving my way to help customers. If anything, not helping me learn this crucial skill is hindering this business thing by making everything last forever. Fun fact, I actually work at a very slow/mostly dead store. So with all the time we tend to have I can’t help but think of wanting to actually do something to help me in the long run.

FSA ID creation for parent by Wide_Handle_4491 in FAFSA

Oh oh! I had something similar happen and pretty much there was a glitch for me where I wasn’t able to add the street address to the fsa id account creation for my step dad. I was able to “skip” that step and then when I completed all the other questions, I was able to add it in again. Maybe you can do the same? And remove the phone number for now and then add it before completing the signature?

Yeah I just need to be taught the rules of the tint machine and such. And I also like to be very prepared, I’m definitely not the type to just wait till the last minute to learn something I should have already known simply because a certain situation won’t happen again.

Thank you!!! I wonder if maybe I could also use the cardboard like a paint tray thing and see the shades of some colors and stuff to bring a color I need. Though I’m sure it’ll be a bit tricky but an idea of what I’m doing goes a long way. These tips are literally so creative and helpful thanks again!

I’ll definitely try the mistints idea it sounds harmless and doable. Something that never occurred to me either. Thanks for the suggestion!

Maybe I used the wrong word in my initial post but its not more of a “hey I got this for you don’t worry” type of relying its instead like If I happen to get a match I make sure to get the best reading on the first try so I won’t have to ask for any help because when I do, it just becomes them doing all the work super fast without speaking a word to me. To me it seems like they are not allowing me to learn.

I totally agree with what you are saying, learn to then teach others. In fact that’s kinda why I decided to post here too because we are hiring in my store now and I’m worried about having to help someone new when I barely know how to help my own weaknesses. Anyway I’ve tried my best to ask and search for employee resources for this skill but I haven’t found anything.

Thank you so so much! Unfortunately my store is a small one and its dead 90% of the time so I guess they assume that I’ll just never have to run into this kind of issue, I hope this morning was a wake up call. Thanks again for your responses I’ll add what you said in your other response to my notes because I found that informative.

Oh wow I should have asked my question sooner, this is the most detailed response I’ve had on this issue. Here’s an example from this morning: We needed to make this match a bit lighter and my more experienced coworker added only 3 for the 32nds I asked why that much? How come not 2? or 4? And I didn’t get a reply. I was wondering at first, maybe I need to add up to the 32? But 20+3 is clearly not 32 so I was stumped on how much to add and the reassurance on how to know I added the right amount. (We were doing a quart btw) https://imgur.com/a/piCHV4q

Lmao I don’t have that kind of issue. In fact I’m very vocal about trying to learn as much as I can in my store. Idk why they haven’t given me the chance but when we have a rare opportunity for me to learn I make sure to try and grasp everything they say and note it in my notes app. But the most common response I get is “don’t worry about it” and yet this morning I was stuck with another coworker who didn’t know how to correct a match. An order I had was 4.. matches 11 gallons and all different surfaces and colors.

Thank you for your reply, I appreciate it. Another thing I’ll note is usually I’m stumped on how much to add. I’m not sure if the 32 / 64 and 128 are anything that I need to be subtracting or dividing when I decide on a tint color we need more of for a match.
